DCCX: KilMuddery 22nd Nov

Well, not sure of any details on this, nothing announced officially on there Facebook page...

It's in a new venue for Cross so should be interesting...

Hopefully they will have a reliable timing system in place as the last time it crashed and only the podium finishers got placings...

Absolutely no practicing on the course when races are in progress.

Prize giving 14:30 in the buildings where sign on is.
Kokskijde world cup race being shown live on a screen after the A race.

Holy shooot that was muddery and sloggery! Myself, AdrianK, Alfie, Caroline, young Brendan, Donough, Jonny D, McGarvey all out for a good oul CX race!

Start off with a gradual climb through the field and into an old corn field, out onto the road for a second and back into the grass field, through the porridge mud, and over the ditch, around the farm yard
and cut through the path back out into the muddery field!

6 laps for the B's and 7 or 8 for the A's, Seymour in second, Squeak 1st lapping in just over 6 mins a lap compared to my over 10mins a lap!!

Caroline was motoring and got 3rd place, CMG 10th, JDoris 12th, Alfie 14th, Adrian 17th


My lungs were sore after that!

Another great race, run by Sean and the boys from DCCX and Bray Wheelers.
Tough race with many mechanicals , but enjoyed it . Even Alfie joined it!

Yeah, that was proper mudfest. Think my bike gained few pounds by the end of the race all covered in mud. Couldn't wash it off.
Weirdly still enjoyed the racing. Had good race finishing 17th so finally broke into top 20 which was a target.
Already can't wait for next race :)

Big numbers from the club getting involved in the CX this year great to see it!! Perhaps we need to run a club CX champs??? Planing the seed!!! :-)

A great race yesterday, big effort from Sean and all in DCCX so thanks lads, super venue with great facilities.
The big screen afterwards to watch the CX World champs with the free beer was deadly!
It was tough going in challenging conditions but still strangely enjoyable!

Ha! Yes, night time CX race would be great, I have an idea where to use too!
