The bold Mcgarvey got up for eight place in the bunch sprint today first stage of the donegal three day

Thanks all, savage racing up here in sunny Donegal! Fri eve was a v quick 53 km with 2 KOMs which we covered in just 1hr 15 at an avg of 43k/hr. All the junior teams are here so the pace was hot & heavy! Got up in the sprint for 8th so a good start to affairs. This morning was a 3km TT which don't really suit me so suffered through it losing about 30secs to the yellow jersey. This afternoon was 3 laps of a 30km course, juniors popping off the front from the gun putting in the pain! Saw two of the worst bike crashes today right in front of me, hope the lads r ok. I went on a break after 40k and managed to stay away with 3 others, including 2mtbers Geoff Robinson & James Curry for the next 50k. Legs were empty as we approached the line so unfort wasn't able to compete for the sprint & the stage but happy to come in 3rd. Final stage tmrw of 93k with 4 KOMs including the cat 1 finish atop Glengesh which should b fun!! Now for more food

Another great day for Colm while the rest of us where out sunning ourselves 13th on today's stage and fourth over all
