Thanks for that Micky, the Nat champs M40 road race was held in Kilcullen on Sat on a 26km course & we had 4 laps to complete. the course had two long draggy climbs one of which was on a narrow crappy road which then led into the finish area. As expected the pace was hot from the start, I was feeling good and tried to get away in a few breaks but they were all chased down and reeled in. A break got up the road containing eventual winner Greg Swinard, I tried to bridge across a couple of times but had no support and the peleton was only interested in preventing you from getting away rather than trying to catch the break. I therefore rolled in to the finish with the group and didnt risk contesting the sprint with the BC race next week. Well done to Greg on a well deserved win and to Orwell for running a great event
