I understand that this is a fantastic event! 82 miles around the beautiful County Clare, closed roads and chip timing. The NPS and Nationals will be over and it would be something different to look forward to! I think it would be great to try and get a gang of Epic people and go and ride it? Anyone interested?
Did it last year, enjoyed it, will probably do it again, but it doesn't compare to one of those magic summer Sundays on the mountain bike - good for a bit of variety though. Odd having the roads closed, everyone I started with left the start area and for the first few miles stuck to the left hand side of the road. The closed roads novelty is a huge factor in enjoying it!

Im being roped into the Wicklow 200 on June 12th,which clash's with a NPS race.
I was thinking about the Wicklow 200 too but it's the same day as the IMBRC NPS which was a great race last year. The only reason I'm pushing the Etape now is that I believe entries fill up very quickly!

It clashes with MBUL's Nps in Clare rather than the IMBRC race Richard. Might give it ago as I'm not going to head all the way down to Clare for the Nps.

You're right John, I was sure it was IMBRC! Limerick race was ok last year too - except for the stupid walk up to the start/finish - not too far from Dublin either (very close to Killaloe)
things are bad when you are looking at the Wicklow 200 and not the NPS.
Even though i violently oppose the idea of an 8 round NPS ( because of the ludicrous 5 races to count rule) I'll be attending all rounds to show my support for the Clubs who have been duped into this and I suggest we all do the same.
From previous accounts the Wicklow 200 has been a very shabby affair.

Well as you say eight rounds is alot and it doesn't suit me to do all the rounds, particulary one or two of the ones further away. It's a time management thing Richie!!!

That's a private estate, you can't just turn up and ride the place. There are occasional races on there and by riding the place without permission would put future events in jeopardy
