Myself and my mates have got down to 1hr16min - we were at 2hr30min three months ago! Can't see myself getting to 1 hour for a long time - but it's a great target!!
It'l be 20 mins by April next year. And sure by 2010 you be goin so fast you'l go back in time.
These times explain a lot of the shortcuts appearing...shame on you all.
Very good....but the real question is how quick are your lap times for the second lap??

me and Damo did it one night early on in its history in 45 Minutes..before the ****heads started ruining it..
It took me over 2 hours another time with a Saturday group...!!
Generally 1 to 1.5 hours is good..theres a fair bit of climbing involved in it..
plus what bike are you on Colin, probably some beast of a yoke..!!

I haven't done two laps up there, I've only done it as part of a bigger loop or as a short night spin.
I thought that an hour was doable, 45 mins would be amazing, you could make up loads by horseing the fireroads out of it.
I'm planning a 3 lap nightride up there later (much later), want to see what 45km's of that would be like

excuse my ignorance, but what is the entire lap? I've rode all of it, but the loop I do seems to include the same bit twice.... parallel to the blast gully, but further up. is that right?
yes it is i think there was ment to be another bit built so you wouldn't be riding that bit twice. It was probably cancelled along with everything else in the budget
there were 5 sections that didn't go in due to lack of cash. They were all uphill bits though, just would have meant less fireroad and no bits twice. They still hope to stick them in, if they strike gold, or oil or something.
1 hour and 11 minutes on that bike is pretty damn good.. we were able to horse along on the fireroads on our xc bikes..
