Myself, Orla , RichardL and Gareth Fair decided that we should have an EPIC club skiing holiday next year (2013).
Of course I know nothing about skiing but some of you must know where the good places are and how to get there??!
Throw the ideas out there.....
It is just to get us all talking, it has been far too quite on here the past few days!
A long weekend skiing/boarding would be fantastic craic! March 2013 would give everybody time to get the money together and get the necessary permissions? I think it's a great idea!
Loads of easy options. Geneva is very handy as there is a huge amount of snowsure resorts within an hour or two's drive, Morzine/Avoiraz are only an hour away and have some great skiing and the Three Valleys are about two hours drive and is the biggest ski area in the world.
As Lynchie said earlier Munich/Memmingmen are within about two hours drive from St Anton which rocks as a resort. If you can get a ryanair flight to Grenoble Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux alpes are about an hours drive away and both have glacer skiing.
As I said loads of options for long weekends in France or Austria. Italy is great for skiing but not as easy to get to. France is a bit more expensive but has the best skiing in my humble opinion.

I'm heading to morzine for Christmas/ new yr so will report back
It's the best crack of any holiday you can have. But with big groups it's hard to keep everyone happy as the different levels.

Enjoy Morzine Terry, its a great spot. Make sure to head up to Avoiraz to ski as its far better with a huge amount of linked runs all the way down into Les Crosets over in Switzerland and a wicked snow park and halfpipe in the resort centre.
Sounds like a deadly idea. Would ye consider a week? a weekend is a tease!
March is a fairly safe bet for most resorts so you can't go too far wrong. If most of the folk that are going are beginners dont rule out Andorra. Les Arcs in frnace is also a good bet, stay in Bourg and get the funicular up in the morning, far cheaper than staying in the resort.
Terry I dont know if drug mules are allowed come on this trip, it could damage the clubs pristine reputation......... : )

Personally I'd go to Val D'Isere but I think Westendorf would be the perfect compromise! Good skiing for all levels (but particularly for beginners/intermediates), reasonably priced, close to Airports and the best Après Ski bar I've ever come across! The Cowshed is about 500 mts up the Nursery slopes - everybody meets there at the end of the day, gets pissed and then skis down into the village in the pitch dark! Absolutely brilliant craic!
Out of interest does any ski anymore or are you all rad to the max snow boarders? I have a fine purple skisuit somewhere and some fine 3 meter timber skis in the attic.

Don skiing is where it is at! So much faster that boarding.
