Like we did last year to be in EPIC mtb you will need a Cycling Ireland Licence.
There is to be no exceptions on this and as it’s pretty much the one rule we have in Epic, so please respect it.*
for our Club there are basicly three licences you can get:
1. non –competition
2. restrictive competition (mtb racing)
3. full competition (Mtb and road racing)
(Any other type of licences are for the road clubs)
To do this all you need to do is visit the CI website and either renew your current 2011 licence or apply for a new one. All issues need to be directed to CI ( all I do is approve you as an epic member) but I will help where I can,*
We are planning on having this years Epic membership night on Thursday 16 Feb. (Date to be confirmed) please ensure that you have applied for the CI licence by then. On the membership night People you have applied / paid for a licence can join, and is will be the only chance you get.
Also as the club Secretary i get sent the licences, so you will need to collect them from me on the spins and make your you do, i still have a stack of unclaimed cards from 2011.
As far as new Members are concerned, its very simple. If they come recommended by active members like yourself, no problem.
But theres no point in being a member unless you are riding your bike every week.
We will always accept experienced riders and racers.
Beginners are a problem because we dont cater for them.
We have 100 members, we only ever want 50 ! So if your friend is keen try him out on a Thursday road spin.
We have members like Beth, The Mulveys, Adrian Hennessy, etc but they are active in other areas so we are glad to have them.
I only like having people in EPIC that actually do stuff, even if I dont see them on spins, I always know whos doing what and thats good enough for me.
I do however only have one real golden rule.
If you are in EPIC then you go to the AGM every year and have a session with us.

According to the Articles of Association 2011 membership lapses on the 1st of February. It is essential that any member of Cycling Ireland who intends to renew their insurance cover and membership with Cycling Ireland that they do so immediately.
- I wouldn't say today is the last day you can renew, just that your old membership lapses today.

What they are saying is that after today, if you have not applied for a new licence, you will no longer be covered by CI Insurance! ie. if you have an accident training you won't have any cover!
okay,so I read all this on here,went to the CI website,entered my name and password and got an error message!!!!So I'm trying to renew my CI membership,but can't,where do I go from here??? Regards,Micky
