I'm well aware of all the drama and goings on that has gone on with the Blast/ Off Road commission and people involved in all that. I'm also aware that I'm not around a wet week so am less / not affected by what has happened.
But would the members of epic as a whole be open to reverting the Club league to how it was when there were many members from other clubs welcome along. I know I have friends in MAD , IMBRC, Epic DH. As I said I know there are people who still fell very wronged about what happened with all the recent drama.
That said we the Mountain Bikers of Ireland are a small community and arguing between ourselves is a fruitless exercise regardless who is right or wrong. This might be a chance to be the bigger club and just try move onwards and upwards.
I respect all the work that those much more established in the club have done long long before I ever sat on a mountain bike and this suggestion is not in anyway meant to take away from that. But lets just try move on, in the long run it's the best for all parties concerned.
Adrian, I think last year was the only year that we had a substantial number of non-Epic members riding in the Club League? Prior to that the situation was pretty much much as it is now ie. Epic Club members + invited guests. As I know from experience the situation last year (particularly at the start of the league) was simply unmanageable - there were just too many people! Far too many riders on the course and if you think trying to get people's numbers is difficult now you should try it with 20 people coming up the last climb together!
Having said that I would agree that it would be great to see a few more non-Epic members out on a Thursday - it just adds to the atmosphere!
Before the league started i sent a personal invite to the c unts that wronged us inviting them in the spirit of reconciliation to come along to the club League i also sent one to the head honchos of those clubs mentioned inviting members Alfie has invited several people also i dont think you can get any bigger than that
My email to Fergal and Morgan was not even replied to . So you can shove your post about our club League up your hole . You have no idea the lengths i have gone to to fix the issues that thes people caused us.

Hang on there Richie don't start being a €unt to me just because I asked a question! As you said I or allot of people have no idea of the lengths you or others have gone to fix these issues.
That is the reason I asked in a reason and rational manner not to provoke a reaction but to see what the what the situation is.
There is no need to say sorry to me at all, one of the things I like about you is that underneath the anger and freckles you are extremely passionate about not just mountain biking but helping people enjoy more and more.
It was seeing that post on the MAD Forum that prompted my original post at the top of the thread.
I know what it is like to have people you can friends and respected in sport totally f uck you over, it's the reason I'm no longer involved in kayaking at national level. I can understand that after all that has happened and that you and Alfie went out of your way to invite others to the league iswas a bit of a smack in the face not to even get a reply.
I also see that the apparent agro is coming from all parties and no one is blameless in this situation.
Even though I said all of that I still think we have the opportunity to try get things moving, because at the moment its just a bitch fest. A genuine well meant invitation to take part in our club league (logistics allowing as Richard mentioned) to some of the other clubs might be a good way to start. If Fergal / Morgan whom I personally have no great issues with don't want to come along that is their choice, but I'm sure there are others who would love the opportunity.
As I said as I'm only new and not involved it may be easier for me to have some perspective / turn the other cheek but I do think it would be a good move, an perhaps a start to making things right for everyone concerned.

Fair Enough Adrian normally the way it works is people ask to be in and we say yes people from Epicdh have always had access to the league so i dont know how they would feel left out same as Imbrc and we have a fair contingent of Madsers already not to mention cycleways actually we didnt turn anybody down for the record i would love to see Fergal back at the club races and.is at least being civil i did personally apologise to him and made a.huge effort to resolve things so did others not i.volved in eithrr the club or offroad comm i still have no problem putting my hand out and he can keep ignoring me but what i do not like is tarring evrrybody in Epic with the same brush Sean on the other hand can die screaming
This is not a row between clubs, but between individuals within those clubs. I hate to see club forums be used to air grievances where most of the members have no issues and have mates on both sides. It only serves to potentially alienate those who are not interested in taking sides. If people have issues the internet is the worst place to try and resolve them.
Adrian, I think you heart is in the right place but there is no quick fix for the individuals involved, I think time is needed for everyone to move on. The best response is just to leave it alone for now and hope in time people can learn to respect each others differences and collaborate as we did before.
i have to say I am sorry to have brought a lot of this on us by way of my comments I realise i took advantage of my position as the biggest mouth in Irishmtb but The Blast was the best thing to happen to Irish biking ever . it was my lifes work over the past 6 years and what have i got to do now except find a replacement. Its my own fault for making it the centerpiece of my life and for trusting people i thought were my very good friends .
Last year's blast was a brilliant achievement. Politics have taken over and it has become a farce. Everyone should be thinking of leaving the politics behind and should be aspiring to attaining the dizzy heights of the blast again.
The powers can be annoyed with us, but mountain biking is not going away and there is very little they can do about it. Bye Laws have no penalties or powers of sanction. The authorities will eventually have to embrace the sport and if they are smart they should use it for good publicity. As an aside, what better way than show the helicopter footage from the blast, it doesn't get better.
Some of those who are heeding the authorities should recognise that a little rebellion makes the authorities aware "the mountain biking problem" is not going away, if anything, the "problem" is getting worse.
