EPIC DH Winterleauge - 8th Feb - Help Needed

Hello All,

As you may know EPIC is running a Downhill winter league on Sunday 8th February in Cloon. To do this we will need some assistance on the day from members. We are going to have live timing provided by a specialist from the UK so the unpleasant job that no body wants is thankfully gone. The main area left where we need assistance is in marshalling throughout the day and perhaps a body or two at sign on in the morning. Lots of people want to race and I would like to enable as many as possible to do so without compromising the quality of our event. So if you are not planning to race, or are busy trying to come up with a credible excuse to avoid it then please volunteer to help out on the day. If you are marshalling you will be rotated to three different points on the day. So you won’t end up minding the same corner all day. It’s a downhill race so marshalling is generally an entertaining job. You will be given clear instructions as what you have to do, and provided with all the equipment you need to do it properly.

You need a suitable Nazi for parking duty as well - not me this time as
a) I've retired;
b) I'm too left wing anyway.
But parking along the road there causes all sorts of problems with the local people, the coach operator (Wild Wicklow Tours go that way), the gearda etc. A lot of people have been shocked and disappointed in the past that a special place was not kept for them just at the gate for their car/van/camper/tent etc. Everyone needs to be prepared to park as requested up the fire road, if this doesn't fit well, sorry but we don't have the luxury of being able to suit everyone.
