As most people know the MTB Rendezvous event is taking place on the 23rd of Sept the aim is to ride from where ever you want with the destination being Knockree hostel for 12:00.
I'm going doing a 'Social Pace' spin for anyone that is interested, you do not have to be a member of Epic MTB or any other club to join this spin. The aim of this spin is so everyone has the craic and no one will be left behind.
As I said everyone is welcome so guys / girls come along and we'll make a day of it, you do not have to be an XC racer or anything like it to join this spin. ( if there are juniors who want to join in, can you get a senior member to who knows you to vouch for you first)
The rough plan for the plan is be at Ticknock upper car park ready to leave at 9:15 am to route is far from set in stone but I aim is to head up Three Rock across to Fairy Castle then on towards Tibradden. After that cross the road and down towards the fireroad up to Prince Williams seat, from there is will be down via Cloon or Curtlestown and take the Wicklow way to Knockree Hostel.
That should be in or around 17km but don't forget there is a cycle back. The return route is to be decided depending how people are feeling.
It will be a long enough day on the bike for some so please come prepared, that means your bike is in good working order.
You will also need
- Pump
- Two spare tubes
- Powerlinks / chain breaker
- Small tool kit
- Water
- Food
- Spare food and water
- The ability to have the craic is probably the most important thing not to forget.
