There is a good chain of letters to the editor in the Irish Times at the moment, regarding cycle lanes and tourism etc
Leo whats his name replied to one of them today in the paper
Given the timing with cancellation of the Rendezvous - perhaps its worth adding to the debate with the subject of opening up the mountains to cyclists and tourists money?
There was a interesting post in Epic in the recent past that mentioned the amount the local community benefits from near a Scottish MTB park..(i think)
Does anyone think someone should pen such a letter on behalf of a club or CI off road or just as an individual?
Hold on..I was thinking, why bother ? First of all we have zero support from the Governing Body and the Offroad Commission, these toothless losers are afraid to rock the boat, the majority of the MTB world won't stand up behind me, they didn't last year over the Blast. If Cycling Ireland were any use they would have fired that nonsense right back at Coillte and said, nothing to do with us and if you pull the permits then you will be dragged through the media, etc etc but they are far more concerned about the rights of Sportif and para cyclists than they are about what a few grubby MTBers are up to. I have an unwarranted tarnished image, if you want to get this **** sorted than cardigan wearing , yacht club types like you and Richard Lynch need to grow a pair and represent us..I'm a terrorist, you guys are the diplomats

I deliberately avoided using the words Mountainbiking to make it more family sounding as mountain biking
conjures images of downhillers in full face helmets to many people...
its a start - lets think about the next steps required...
