This from our friends at MAD -
This guy is currently going haywire up in 3Rock (what's new there you say), and we can't continue to get annoyed without doing anything, so we need to go to the Garda in Stepaside with an official complaint, on behalf of both MADMTB and other clubs and users of 3Rock MTB trails.
So - this is what you need to do:
If you have been affected by the rockdropper's activities then you need to send me an email so I can collate all the input and present it to the Garda.
We strongly suspect that the majority, if not all, obstacles being placed around the Ticknock area are the work of one Tony Kirby from Dundrum who walks his dog up there weekday mornings around 9am.
We have first-hand testimony from riders who have seen him in action and who have been threatened by him.
There are photos of him in action, he has acted threateningly toward riders, myself included,
he has already been videoed by Niall Davis vandalising Coillte signs up Ticknock, he has also been nicely asked to stop his activity but he's worse than ever, so we need to get the Garda involved again and show how big and dangerous an issue this is by getting testimony from riders.
I will also be posting this on other clubs sites.
If you have been affected by this issue, you need to send me an email (fergal.kilkenny@gmail.com) with:
Make sure to include "rock dropper" in the subject of your email so I can filter them out easily.
You need to agree to be contacted by the Garda on the chance they want to verify the various emailed testimonys or get further detail.
See below examples of what you could provide as a description of your experience with the problem, there may be other issues too so make sure to include any other examples not listed below.
Please provide supporting details where possible (eg; times/dates/location/photos/any injuries sustained etc..)
Note - none of these are made-up! - these are all examples of what people have reported to me about what's going on, what I've seen from spin reports, what I've read from Facebook posts or what I have directly observed, a lot of you will have experienced such instances yourselves:
It'd be great if you could email me within a week or less, as soon as I get a significant amount of testimony from riders, I'll call into the Stepaside Garda station with the info.
I might get a rep. from other clubs to call in with me too to add weight to the issue.
Remember, it's very important that you help us help ourselves and others by taking the time to send an email with your experience of this very serious problem.
Get typing.
Thanks.

- I have personally witnessed him placing obstacles on trails.
- I have observed dangerous obstacles such as branches and rocks on trails.
- Some of the obstacles are so big (eg; boulders) that I have not been able to move them off the trail and make the trail safe.
- I have cleared away the obstacles for fear of some rider being injured, only to find the obstacles back on the trails soon afterwards.
- I have stopped or reduced my cycling up in Ticknock due to this issue.
- I have stopped my son/daughter from cycling up in Ticknock due to this issue.
- I feel my safety is directly threatened by the obstacles being placed on trails.
- I have observed dangerous obstacles being placed on blind corners of trails with the intent of causing injury
- I have injured myself as a result of colliding with these obstacles
- I have photos of the obstacles which have been deliberately placed on trails.
- I have been personally threatened by this person or he has acted in a threatening/intimidating manner towards me.
- The damage to trails/obstacles have coincided with me observing his car (silver Mazda 626) in the upper carpark.
