First well done to everybody who turned up and supported the event. There was a great turnout from the Club, with Max and Steven on their Trances 5th and 6th in Super Pros and various positions for everybody else around the place.
Oscar, Ray and Myself all had mechanicals, Dan and Max junior got lost , I sorted out another broke chain ( it broke at the powerlink,) never seen that before. I repaired it got going again and it snapped, obviously in my haste to get going again I didn't repair it right.) but I finished.
I have to say it was a brilliant slick event. The locals have made a great job on the trails..it was a joy to ride, the craic in the Team van was ace and the convoy was brilliant.
While its a trail center, its a deadly one, and an absolute pleasure to ride compared to the awful mess that the rest of our favourite trails are. Brilliant riding from all the boys and single lady..well worth the 2 hour drive and the â¬25 entry, a brilliant day out . I can't wait to go back down.
6 & 7 but I'll take the 5 & 6!

in ****in fairness..i had what felt like a piece of glass in my right eye and every cnut in the place as asking me was I alright. ! I enjoyed my race but I was aggravated at people travelling all the way down there in EPIC jerseys doing the baggy shorts and not the super pros..fcuk sake people, its only 33 kms of a loop and its brilliant..if it took you 3 hours it would have been worth it..I can't wait to ride my actual race bike instead of my hacker with the parts that are well past their best !
That was fantastic, so glad I made the trip down, (thanks for the lift Kev) took feckin ages to get round as my legs and lungs have forgotten how to communicate, but loved every minute of it, those trails ride so well. Well done to Niall et al once again. Great results for Stephen and Max.....Richie call me if you need any eye advice :)
i need some free frikin contact lenses ! well done Gary, its safe to say I am not impressed that people didn't make the journey down. We live on a tiny Island with a tiny community of racers..and nothing will bring you on like racing. All our favourite trails are in a heap from being ridden, we should have taken this as an opportunity to ride somewhere new..
That race was well worth a cracking road trip lads. As always very proud to have the Epic jersey on today. I hear ya Richie with the dirt in the contacts, tis a right feckin pain in our eyes.
I had a rubbish start down the back caught behind some mega goobers & then my bloody chain came off in first single track leaving me paddy last so had alot of work today. All in all great day & first time to ride there so loved it.
Well done to all the Epic crew riding & of course the Biking.ie crew for another brilliant event. Roll on GaGaGaGalway
well dont know about you lot but my legs are fecked , they started to cramp up after an hour but i just hung in there "think happy thoughts" liking winning the lotto or passing richie, which i did, he was fixing his chain but he soon caught up.
Im glad i made the trip as i had not been there before, it was a well organized event and the weather was good thanks to Niall and his crew....
I think we should do a seminar of race nutrition and hydration, like we did 2 years ago (I think?) in CYM. Could be beneficial for the new members / racers?
Cracking day until a torn sidewall put an end to my race. Proxy schwalbes even had 40 psi in them! Anyway was definitely worth the journey. Nicely run event. Well done to Niall and his crew.

you're technically a beginner so you get away with it, however you are well able for 30k on a trail center....but Ross Pearson is getting a new hole opened !
as for pre race nutrition and hydration , its common sense..we can get Del in again for anothere session but all you need is water and water and bananas and figrolls and 30 minutes before kick off shove a gel down yourneck, and the blitz is a piece of p iss compared to the NPS..we ( me and Max) will organise something.
