Well for those that didn't make it was by far the hardest most gruelling 2 hours of my life .We took over the town of Cong on Saturday which was great craic, but the rain just kept falling which turned the track into 5km of porridge , you can't blame anyone on that so we just kept ticking off the laps . I may of got a top 15 Niall and Terry stole the show with two strong performances so well done to them. Thanks to Richie and Aidan for all the support and big shout out to Maxie baby who had a lot on his plate with all the organising. Roll on rd2 and a bit of dryness!!

Rocked into cong yesterday and did 2 laps of course and reckoned it was very tough but almost all rideable, had a great night but god I hate been away and not drinking ( that's tougher than the race I think), today I wish I had just got binned last night! as it was like being in the mini bog of death for most of it, just grinding that rear wheel and some times the bike felt like it was made of lead, it just wouldn't move, but I kept the head down and kept picking off people as I had a crap start, not sure of my result but to finish 4 laps of that was a tough call, great company with all the lads cheers guys
That was a very tough race and fair play to all that Took part some excellent results! Yep Steve porridge is a very accurate description! Very hard work cycling in that the tyres just kept spinning and the bike was just getting clogged up with mud! Alot of places you had no choice but to get off the bike and run which was also difficult and enery sapping! But hey the conditions were the same for everyone and there was nothing any one could do about it just grind through it!
My race started well got into the wood picked off a few places lost a few place and pretty much continued that way for the first lap then the bike started giving trouble drivetrain was clogging chain kept sticking stopped and tried to get some of the muck off but not long before it clogged again then boom snapped the chain race over! Was disappointed as I felt I going better then I expected!
Fair play to Max and Cunga CC on the organisation of an excellent event! Hope it's back next year! And fair play to Richie and all the spectator for the encouragement!
Going to miss the next round but should make the rest looking forward to it!
Wow - that looked tough. Seriously heavy going, well done everyone who raced today and well done Max and Cunga CC. Mick, I hope you are all right mate, that looked bad.

Jazuz lads that was a swomp. Great to get down the night before, ride course & hang out with the Epic crew, yeah Terry I'd say we would have a right larf if we had hit the jar for the night, ha ha.
I was talking to one of the organisers & he said it had not rained for nearly a month there & then fri/sat it started chucking down.
I got a good start & decent first half but bombed on the last lap getting passed by loads. Ah well just delighted to be back on the racing buzz & proud to be wearing the Epic jersey.
Big thanks to Max & Bunga for a super event & what a venue. Big cheers to Richie for roaring us on & lookin forward to seeing the pictures.
