And firstly what a day's racing, the ground was wet, but the minds were willing, the sun came out to play and the racers were in the zone!
Great time had by all, lovely to get to talk to ace photographer Mr. Van Der lee, and hang out with start / stop / marshals Oz and Colm, (also thanks for the spin up Colm)

BONs tires. Truly woeful performance from the tires - could have been a contender today but as everyone know's the Schwalbes that come fitted on a bike will always let you down! sad day for a true biking hero.

& well done to all for participating and avoiding all the walkers and dogs today - it was a busy day in the Leadmines! very enjoyable and entertaining - a fantastic day for the club. well done to all the winners (in fairness today everyone was a winner - what a day to be out and cycling your mountain bike - amazing!)

I was really looking forward to today,my 1st club champs,even though Im in the club since 2010!!
But despite plenty of time on the bike,and doing the CX races,I just struggled around,no go in the legs from the start and I pulled out halfway around lap 2.
No point in flogging a dead horse.But,I did enjoy the chats beforehand.

Great day indeed. Can't believe I was bumped up to the fast gang . Smiley face with a wink .... But very happy to get around in one piece. Managed to stay ahead of Rudolph which was nice. A good enough race line dried which helped. I was gutted for Bon ... next time my friend. Thanks to Ado Harrie Oz . Well done Colm . Hope the cnc is up and running for those clocks as it s#@t its self on Friday . Erica had the easiest day out but I know your a legend so you deserve a clock for sure . Thanks again folks I love Epic . See you all at agm . Ill be the all singing all dancing drunk guy .
Thank you all, Marshals, timers, photography, racers... Etc.. On my first club champs, I really enjoy this. Looking forward to doing more racing with you's. A great club.
Yeah great morning, I never look forward to the Club Champs this time of the year with muck and rain but we got a brilliant day for it. Went 120% for as long as could with the lightweights on skinny bikes trying to get me on every climb and eventually the legs packed in half way through. Had thoughts about giving up but kept going and rolled in behind Colm and Chris, have to be happy with that! Some craic on the single-track and the tower extension was deadly, can we include that in the normal club races? Good banter in Palmers also. Thanks for the timing Harri and to the lads that kept an eye out for walkers on the junctions, and of course to VDL for the photos!

Thanks to all involved in organising and running today's race. Special mention to Colm for keeping us safe, Adrian for the photos and encouragement, Oz and Harri for the timing. I had a good battle with Conor and Andy but both of them got the better of me in the end. I almost caught Conor on the entrance to the forest but he managed to pull away after I hit the deck. (Bring on the club league next year boys!)
On a personal I was happy with a new personal best: My garmin reports that I managed to get my heart rate over 101% of maximum!
Well that was a glorious morning for photography, so I imagine the biking was pretty cool too. You're all deadly, so I went straight in to the office to process the photos which are all up on Facebook here:

That was a deadly mornings racing and spinning around the leadmines, good work Alfie organising the weather no need for all the layer I had on. Very fast speed from the off some great raving with Alfie, Max and Colm before running out of steam on the last lap, Jesus that was hard going.
Well done to Erica, Colm and Adrian in the wins excellent stuff.
Thanks to Oz, Harri and Colm for being officials and Adrian fir the photos. Great to see such great numbers, we ll have a social spin in a few weeks and it'd be great to see everyone again, and of course at the Agm also.
Also tread hijack - club trip next weekend get on board
Yes, first on Saturday and last today, result! I was wrecked from the Enduro Saturday so I kept the revs low today and had a mess around, think I jinked poor bon on his back to the future bike, sorry! Well done Colm on the win and to Rudolf for fcuking him off his bike on the after race spin! Thanks Harri, Colm, ADVL, great fun but I felt all naked without my baggies!
