Bad day at the NPS MTB office for me. Legs weren't feeling it. Started ok sticking with Niamh Leah and Anne up front as we climbed. Then my chain came off and it felt like an age to get it back on and then I cudnt catch back up with the girls again or find them so was in fourth until my tyre ripped as I was nearly getting to the finish of lap 2. Had a small walk back. Anyway so onto union woods for round 5. Belurgan trails are fun though and it was great crack to stay around and cheer on the S3, S2, S1 riders. Not too sure of people's results but I know Vinnie Colgan podiumed 3rd as I took his podium pics for him. And maybe Harry was 3rd ? Anyway well done all!

Myself? Well after being off the bike for the guts of two weeks and having a tough race with Jon on Thursday I wasn't mentally engaged leading up the the race. Did well at the start sprint and slotted into 3rd but did not push hard enough on the first climb (i could have). Vinnie shot passed taking control of the race and putting me into 4th. I slid out on a corner letting another 2 by. Tough racing in the gaps - its such a tight course that you could be 10 meters behind someone but not be able to see them. On the last lap I managed to pull back a few places. Emil (MBCC) latched on and we had a great ding dong right to the end - i held him off on the line (just). Happy enough all round. Now, back to training!

Class course to ride put a smile on everybody's face today who travelled even if it looked miserable living Dublin all who kept the faith rewarded with dry dusty fast riding plus ice cream
Trails so dry again the S3 got going ended up riding in a dust cloud on first hill
Thanks to Vinny for sorting out by head re the gap jump excellent mentoring saved me at least 10/15 seconds per lap more important moved up some places per lap
Off to dust down the bike now

Big shout out to Oscar whose wheel I followed on for the last descent - which helped me fend off 2 locals for the podium spot.

Well done all. Especially caroline, harry and vinny on their podium places. Superb course. Worth the drive up just to ride it. No gas today for me... legs weren't up for it.
Was off the bike twice on the first lap after dropping the chain and could only really pedal on the flat bits and climbs and what a great course with plenty of techy stuff to keep us busy. Great day out.
