At the moment up to 20 plus club members racing at every cx race across different categories.
So what is the interest? in having pit crews for the races to wash bikes handle bike changes to keep everybody riding?
Over the last few race I think everybody has seen the advantages of having a pit crew to keep them moving.
What would the logistic be?
The easy part would be acquiring washer and equipment.
The hard part ensuring that the pits have crews to handle the bike changes, washing, would basically means want pit services then have to do your turn in pits.
Other consideration volunteers to have washer, kit , water at races store between events.
So what’s your view? Interested in participating in getting pit crews organised?
Would use like to be the Pit crew manger? arrange rosters?
This is a great idea and I’m all on for it. What Terry did not mention is the craic in the pits particularly when Caldwell is multitasking child minding with doing bike swaps.

Yep have to be careful with Paul multitasking or you mind end up on a swap heading off with a buggy and baby for a lap...………..
All for it Terry. Maybe post with categories and peeps can it their names down for pitting when their not racing, see how much interest/coverage and decide on hire of washer then if the personnel are there. Might be a challenge where A B cats and short gap between races for warm up post pit duty and vice verse racers getting clean and warm to pit for the next race. Most people using pits have crews that aren’t racing at all. But it just might work with a bit of planning. Interesting though that last response was four days ago on the topic.
I guess we'll have the biggest group in the M40,50,60 race which is at 12. John D, Dave M, Colm McG, Terry, Niall, Myself. Probably only Paul in the Elites (?) so should have no problem manning the pits for this one but the M40,50,60 might be a challenge? What are you going to race Donough, Emmet, Ronan K ? Also any ladies ? Natalie, Tara, Erica (go on you know you want to)...

I have signed up for the masters of the universe and youth race at 12
Available for pits for support race 13-20, elite race 14-30
So what is required for pits talking to Richard the number one requirement is water ,water and more water plus bucket and brush and all has to be carried to pits area from car park time to get some water carriers sorted
A few comments dress for the pits can be a wet mucky cold place to be, notice from course map pits further up the hill than last races a long way from car park.
Next Sunday should not be as mucky as last races good slope facing south catches wind has not rained to much last week or two hopefully get a few laps out of a bike before change required.
Anybody know if there is a tap and location of same at GAP for refilling water?
So what is expected , paying attention to race waiting for incoming rider for bike change can all get very confusing who’s coming in have right bike, after bike change get bike cleaned most important cleaning is the drive train remove heavy muck by hand brush rear mech chain set, any request from rider soft tyre ,tape in cassette ,ensure not in high gear ,back to pit to repeat if required
Re second bikes anybody with only one ? When cleaned will have small focus available as pit bike sharing is caring.

I’ll be there for the 12 o’clock race and if needed with elites. I’m racing support. I’ll have a spare bike, not too pushed but if there was someone to give it a once over great. I’ll bring brushes and a 25 litre water carrier. They might have an IBC or hose arranged to refill.
So the plan of hiring a washer is not going ahead? At this stage probably not I’m imagining. I wasn’t going to get one on the basis I’ll be trusting around at he back of the b race, I thought some podium boys might have gotten organized. We’ll see tomorrow. At least we can get the worst of the much needed off by hand.
