Tues Night Spin

who wants to go where. I'm all ideaed out so somebody make a sugestion
heres one for you.
Curtlestown
the dream Mile
Up the narrow singletrack to the Wicklow way
go right andstay on the wicklow way
Turn left at the junction on the fireroad
up to the mini bog of death
across the minibog
back on to the rocky Wicklow way
Down the wicklow way
Down Brian and Simon Stacks track
probably take you the guts of 2 hours or you can just avoid the Mini Bog and head over to Cloon Via the rocky white trail
or
you could do Ballinastoe
up the singletrack to Luggala
over the boardwalks around Djouce
and come back over the lower Common to ballinastoe and
do the rest of the Singletrack in ballinastoe
or
you could just do Kippure..up and back down the front park at the featherbeds.
or
Glen of the downs
Rocky Valley
Sugarloaf
Back to the Glen of the downs
a lot of road though
I hope these suggestions help
Richie
All great suggestions just not sure if my inbuilt gps will combobulate them.

I formulated a plan meet at curtlestown at 7.15. If my plan works it will be legend.

Up Curtlestown across to cloon down the dh track in cloon back along the road to curtlestown but peel off down the wicklow way towards the river by crowen woods(haven't ridden that trail in years looking forward to trying to stop before the river) and back.
thats a deadly idea for a route nice one...the stretch of wicklow way singletrack going down to the road above Knocree now has savage whups/ water bars/ditches..adds to the craic..you will want to do it again..we did it a coupla weeks ago on the XC bikes..it was frikkin A deadly..let us know if somebody lands in the river..Dan Wolfe came real close one time..
just not entirely sure how to get back upto the road to head back to curtlestown as its been so long since i've ridden it. I can only remember as far as the bridge over the river
ah now, thats going to hurt but only a little..at the bridge you are going to have to go just leftwards and follow the steep field back up to the Hostel and from there pedal back up the road...
but hey I still think you're plan is sound, just go back up by the hostel and suck up the pain of the road..Its not that that bad.
Go for it you'll be grand and its a good original route. I don't see anybody else coming up with suggestions !!
Good work lads, I was trying to think of something different but it's hard after riding the usual spots all winter. Sounds like a good plan see you there.
aahhh that all sounds amazing, i wish i could go, unfortunately i'm gonna have to miss the tuesday spins for about another month (now, now no tears please!!!!)
god help me when i return.....
You missed a good one Shona is it becauces of your freaky hand that you have to miss the spin?

That was a legend spin loads of action and adventure . Great group out Cummins, Karl T, Alan Ayling, Joe and Natt, Adam, The Bosnian and the Murphy and Gunn possy of Keith and Ansley. The pace was just fast enough on the ups to keep us suffering no thanks to Adam testing out his new couch to see how well it climbed. Up Curtlestown and on to the wicklow way and then the rocks and more rocks. Up onto the top and start the descent and the begining of all the punctures. Myself and Cummins both falling victim to the rocks . With them fixed and Karls new pump thourougly tested it was on for some super rocky action and time to prove which colour bike was faster. Red or Magnolia. On into Cloon down the fireroad and pick up the DH track where it crosses the fireroad. Puncture number two for me. Keep on riding till the carpark to fix it there. Rear one almost fixed and the air in the front said something about not caring and fecked off. Cheers lads for the tubes. On to Knocknacree and to pick up the wicklow way. That singletrack rocks, it was super dusty and there was people blowing out corners and finding alternate routes down allover the place. On to the grassy descent where the fun really began with Adam and the Bosnian scrapping for most stylish way of stopping at the bottom. Alan had an excursion into the bushes at the halfway point curtesy of some rocks. Hope there wasn't too much damage done and the wait in Loughlinstown wasn't too bad. After we dusted off Alan and got him back on his bike and along the river we went till we found the lovely climb up to the hostle and then back along the road.

The plan worked out great. Might even have to try it in the winter with lights, I'm just thinking how cool the singletrack on the wicklow way would be at night.

Forgot to say red bikes are quicker
good man Al, you are a legend. Well done. keep up the good work. All the goobers sitting at home watching eastenders should go and start a new club..
It takes a lot of faith and nerve to lead spins. People should at least make the effort to turn up for them.
You wouldn't believe the whinging i have had to listen to from people wishing there were spins for them, So fair play to Al for keeping these spins going.
Every Tuesday we have 2 spins going , one for purely XC and the other for the kind of people Sean and I started the club for.
Thanks Al.
We will also have Sean's deadly spins of Loneliness, but I'm the only one allowed on them. They’re special.
Great spin Al cheers for that. Great group out as well, It's always nice to ride new trails and there's defo some of them I'm going back to do. The run down the field to the river is deceptively sketchy you think you have lots of time to stop then you hit the 'ice' grass, brakes on, and your on your ear......Well some of us were.........
ugh, sick i missed that, was late out of work, sped up to curtles but you guys had gone, went to crone for a survey spin, feckin rocky place, need bashguards...
