Todays Spin was a bit of a bummer, well apart from the amazing descent off Djouce and my deadly crash it was a disaster with all the mechanicals.
We also seemed to be waiting around at every bleeding corner.
It just doesn't really work having a group out at different levels. So from now on, use the forum to organise your spins.
be realistic about your abilities though.
Theres huge differences between peoples pace, be aware of that, some of us go harder than others so be fair to them,

well we had a deadly sunday spin
It didn't start out great as Sean decided to stay in the city at the last minute so that knocked our numbers down to two but we carried on.
We started with a run up blackcomb for some boarding as it was the last day of the winter season.... viz was crap but it was fun to be back on snow again, we only did a couple of runs and then it was back to the car to change for the bike park....
This was our first time in the park so we stuck to the blue runs but we got loads of runs in (lifts are great) with loads of small jumps, berms, ramps and the odd see saw, mad crack i tell ya.....
It wasn't that bad take away all the mechanicals and it was pretty good, just compared to last weeks spin of legeneds made it feel crap but theres been on worse spins.
I quite enjoyed it too.....probably cause I was one of the fat-asses at the back that yez were waiting at the corners for tho bring back the good ol days when there was a savage spin and social spin on sundays and then the problems solved:)
i don't recall having to wait for you Ms Beep..and its not an actual criticism...just an observation.
We don't get volunteers to take Sunday spins.
So unless somebody wants to take on the Sunday Spin permanently, like Sean and I used to do in the early days, then let me know by email or PM.
it requires turning up every single Sunday, hail,rain or snow. We did it for nearly 4 years.

Hmmmm... not exactly the spin of the year but good none the less... unfortunate about all the mechanicals but hey that's mountainbiking for you I suppose... kinda put a downer on the whole spin... especially when the midges are out in force and hungry for blood... :eek:
People should really practice changing tubes and fixing chains at home to try familiarize themselves with it... Its easy & both jobs should take about 2-3 minutes max.. Go on to CRC or give Al in the Bikerack a call and buy a load of Power Links.. fixing chains has never been so easy with these things..
And there is absolutely no excuse for coming out without at least one good tube... two is better & recommended... and as for trying to fix a puncture on the side of a mountain with glue and patches..!! well the less said about that the better..
Always check your bike & your spares before you go out... Make sure you have the right tools for the job and know how to use them...
When you come out badly prepared you not only ruin the spin for yourself but you also ruin it for the rest of the group... please bear that in mind next time you leave the house without all the proper bits...
