great spin , great turnout..pity about the mechanicals..Aimi and Clo broken Chains, Jack exploding tyres.
Unfortunately it was a bit of a mixed spin with freeriders and xc hard men mixing it up.But , i'm afraid the pace was a bit hot, however the freeriders got a workout. But I'm going to run 1 social spin, 1 freeride spin ( next Sunday) and 2 hardcore XC spins a month.
To try and keep things even. That means I'm doing 2 savage and 2 not so savage, sounds good to me.
Inanyways.
After we abanodoned Killian, Jack and DaveG we went across the top of Cloon to the Fetherbeds. Up the poxy tarmac off the road to Cruagh..across to Cruagh wood.
Myself, Ross and Luke bailed here, we had a jazz session in The George to get to, and Lukes Hair was a mess and Rosses legs were all nasty..
The real men, Alfie, Tim,Rob,Oscar ad Legs keith went up over Tibradden and fairy Castle.I'' let those bad boys fill that part in,

yeah what a spin i left the house at 9.30 on the bike and got in the door at 2.40
just finished eating now!
we headed up the boulderdash but alas eoin kieth had enough at this stage and heade back (world class adventure races are nothing compared to epic spins!)
reached the turn to head up the woccas to the bottom of fairycastle and rob decided he to had enough and headed back down the woccas and home on the road so myself tim and oz took a left at the bottom of fairycastle down the wicklow way and kdm then climbed back up and finished up with a tired spin down the boneshaker to the shop.

the route was deadly there was a good gang out and the weather gods were very nice to us too.

aimi and i got back to the cars after 5 and a half hours. after my chain broke - thanks killian for fixing it - aimi and i let all you crazy fast people off at that insane pace and we took off to tibradden at a more gentle pace, back along the road into glencullen and off over the wicklow way to cloon, down the down hill course and along the road to curtlestown then up and over back to three rock. flew down the bone shaker back to the cars. never so glad to see my car. wrecked tired but it was a great day, thanks to aimi for the company. what a day! my arms are so sunburned- cant believe i forgot sunblock!
yes, thanks for the chain help - can't believe both our chains broke - femme fatals at their best!!. Appologies for holding you speedies up at the start - i knew it was going to be hard when i saw all the skinny, lyra clad legs at the shop with nothing but an ole biscuit and half a bottle in their jersey's (except eoin who had his usual camping supplies)but was good for my lungs to get a good burning.
Nice long, medium speed, steady spin for me & cloda and what a day for it, been a while since i've been out 5 hours. I too am sunburned, with all my rain jackets and silver emergancy blankets i wasn't prepared for sunshine. A great day overall.
