I am going to work on a similiar one for us with Don for 2010..so make sure when you go on spins take pictures.
Somebody also needs to do a spin report after every spin, I will do mine..now when you do a spin report, keep it simple and descriptional , none of our usual nonsense.
I think what IMRA have done here is magnificent !! That would be a pretty fine thing to have on your coffee table, one of the lads here is a hillrunner and he brought me in his copy yesterday. I was seriously impressed.
Imagine the year starting with spins, the DH Winter league, the XC and DH NPS, the nationals, the mega Avalanche, the masters Worlds, the Club league, the Roc..

I think this is a great idea, we will examine how best to produce it but the hope is that it will be a book that members can buy at the end of the year. It will be a proper hardback book, well designed and something to look back when you old to make you feel alive again. You can show the grandkids pics of yourself on the the rock of death, covered in mud, they won't believe it's you.
Crucial to its success are 2 things

Spin leaders really need to take responsibility for this and bring a camera, they can take the pics or delegate someone in the group to do it. We don't need tonnes of images, 5-10 a spin would be plenty. Try and shoot at a decent resolution but don't worry too much about it if you can't.
Write ups:
Once again, the spin leader needs to get someone in the group to do a quick write up. It only takes minutes. Jazz it up a bit if you want, this is EPIC after all. Make sure each write up has the venue and date, after that it's up to you.
If we can do these 2 things we can do the book, we can't without them.

maybe a few night shots backlit with steam pouring off someone.

Each digital camera has different settings for the quality of pictures you take, usually small, medium, large, extra large in the menu. If you can shoot in medium or large, that is what we need.
Hillrunning has gone soft. When they ban races on more than 5 % fire road and yearbooks and ripping the piss out of people on their forum and turning up without a car full of people I might take it up again. It used to be hill-arious fun, now it's mildly entertaining at best. A bit like nostalgia, it just isn't what it used to be.
We have one and it's shyte. That's one of the problems.
Voting numbers, eh? Of course I'd need to see the manifesto of what I was voting for.
Epic yearbook - nice idea in a way, can't see it working though. This club is about the craic, being there and living it and having stories of your own to tell, stories which undoubtedly grow in stature with the re-telling. Experiences you can hardly believe you were involved in sometimes, but you know you were and what's more you survived. A yearbook could never do it justice.
Be off with your negative vibes....
they say a photo means nothing till it's 10 years old. the idea of the yearbook is to look back on in the future.....

that negative **** pisses me off, I think I know better than anybody alive what EPIC is all about considering I live eat and breathe it everyday. I've given up all my other sports to make sure flutes like you get to experience mountainbiking the way it should be.
I think a yearbook showcasing the achievements of all the talented people we have in the club would be a fantastic reflection on our amazing group of people.
If I hear anybody else spouting on about "What EPIC is all about" I'll puke..it doesn't have to be about anything other than riding a fuc kin mountainbike..

I think it's a brilliant idea! I'm only in Epic a year and I've already had more great moments than I can recall (probably an age thing!) - I'd love a collection of photos and reports that will bring back good memories! They can go on the shelf beside all my wedding albums!!!
