Leinster XC League Rnd. 2 CuChulainn sneak-preview

Now this kind of stuff really warms my cold commissionary heart!!

CuChulainn CC are pulling out all the stops to create a top-class race for us all on 4/Apr/2010 - hopefully there'll be a monster turn-out from the Dublin clubs to support the hosting club - Cuchulainn CC - who have secured a brand new private venue which is nearly all singletrack!

The venue is a new location near Carlingford just off the Motorway only 40 mins from the airport so you're up there in no time!

If they get good numbers at this race then it means they can run an NPS there next year so I strongly urge ye to get up there for a great days racing.

Regional leagues such as this are an excellent stepping stone between the Developmental race series and the XC NPS so make sure to support these races and keep the sport growing.


Don't forget that Round 1 of the Leinster League is in another new venue down in Wexford (hosted by Racing 795) the weekend beforehand on 28th March!

This is going to be a deadlyus-maxximus year for XC racing!

Our new XC course is on private land at the foot of the Cooley Mountains. 7 and a half K of it is single-track in ancient broadleaf forest with 500m or so of farmer’s lane as a run in for the start finish.

As this is a completely new trail it will be open to anyone with a CI licence that wants to come up for a practice during March, as part of our spring league on Saturday mornings.
On Saturday the 3rd the course will be open for practice and we are working on permission for camping in the grounds on Saturday night, showers are the issue at the moment.

There is a large dry flat field at the front of the Manor House that will be used for parking.

We have booked and confirmed ‘Chipit’ for chip timing.

They have a big screen telly at the finish with splits/placings and times instantly available.
The finish Gantry, Clock, Crowd control barriers, Portacabin for registration and feed station marquee are also booked and confirmed.
We will run the competitors through a Marquee.

If any of the clubs have Gazebos or tents etc. they can be erected on the Saturday and left up as it is private property. It would be nice to get a village around the start/finish area.
