Ok I sent the form by post, the cheque has been lodged and I have nothing to show for it except the lack of â¬85 in my account. I have had no response what so ever!!!!
Licence 2010
ok i've applied for mine..i guess its been sent off to Jacksie for approval..I couldn't renew my licence for some reason..i imagine though Smithers that if you look in your account theres a number relating to your licence in it..unless you did it by post then you need to get in touch with CI..
I handed in my form and money to the CI office on the 19th Jan.Got approval from Jack (Brian H) and heard nothing.Went back into the CI office last Friday to see what was happening and Heather told me there was a big backlog. Micky
So any idea of whats gonna happen for the race in moneyscalp at the weekend? sent my money off last week, everything is approved acording to CI, won't be happy if i have to spend another €20 for a one day licence on top of the €85 because the licence has'nt arrived.
Backlog, Fair enough but there should be some contact made or even send you a number or something ahh **** it I couldn't be arsed i'm sure it will turn up some day!!!
Well , if you've paid for it and got some sort of receipt for it then you have it..
There should be a number attached some where..I went in to my account after i got this message, but in the account it still says " pending approval" ..it used to be once you were approved you got a licence number ! and we used to use emails from Ci with Licence number on it as proof of Licence.
I'm assuming that once the account is updated and i pay for it, i will get my licence number, has anybody got a different experience before I call for the burning torches and the pitchforks!!

I renewed mine online about 2 weeks ago, got an email back saying it had been approved, sent a cheque and photo in last week and got an email back saying I needed to email in a photo rather than post it in but once I had done that they would print off my licence and get it sent out so they've been keeping me informed of what's going on but you'd imagine they'd have the facility to scan the photo I sent in!

Update on Licences & Website
All,
We are currently working through a high volume of membership applications. At present there are slightly over 1000 licences ready to be printed. There are aproximately another 900 awaiting payment or further approval. Finally there is also postal applications which are been verified and inputted into the system. Details of these applications and assigned race grades can be found in a spreadsheet 'Licence-Status-Feb5th' under the General section within the Key Downloads area of the site. Any queries on road competition licences grades should be sent to grading@cyclingireland.ie
Road Race organisers are asked to review the guidelines for the new racing categories:

There are currently two main priority areas to address on the membership area of the website. These are the opening on the online payment system to allow credit card payments. The second change is to the renewal page where the licence type and fees are calculated. Both of these should be completed by Tuesday 9th.
The licence packs and yearbooks should be ready for distribution/collection by Feb 17th.
Finally as the office staff continues to work through the remaining backlogs the phones will remain off between 11-4pm each day if you have any urgent requests please send be email to info@cyclingireland.ie or by Fax to 353 1 8551771

Cycling Ireland would like to provide the following update to members and clubs regarding the status of 2010 licence applications.
At present there are 4992 licences for 2010 distributed to 178 affiliated clubs this year, representing an additional 700 members on the same period last year. We would like to apologise for the delay experienced by some members in receiving their 2010 licences. This was due to service difficulties encountered with the rollout of a new membership system. As a result the office staff were unable to print licence cards until early February. This combined with the delayed opening of the online payment system and additional queries related to the new licence grading system generated a backlog of applications.
We would also like to apologise for the difficulties experience in contacting the office during the past few months. We are conducting a review of operations with a view to improving the communication to members re the status of applications etc.
At present there is no backlog of applications so licences can be issued within 5 days of receipt of all the necessary details and payment. Cycling Ireland is continue to work with our service provider to improve the registration process. A detailed guide for clubs and members to the online process will be available next month.
