Ah Jasus,where's the results??Where the race reports??Just cause Byrner is away at Damo's wedding lusting after Damo's aunts from the country does'nt mean the club has to stop!!
So I'll throw up my thoughts!Sat in my car in Palmers carpark till 6.55pm,waiting for the rain to stop.Was talking myself into doing the race,as getting wet didnt appeal to me!It didnt stop raining,so I got cold and wet riding up to the club course.Got to the startline with a minute to spare,at least it stopped raining!!Never felt great during my race,and my hands only warmed up halfway thru lap 3!!My laptimes turned out to be good,no PB,but Im happy with them.Course rode well,just the odd slippy root and rock.Good craic in the pub after,plus the chicken burger was lovely!!Thanks to all the timers and onlookers for the shouts of support!Micky

that was great tonight - less traffic than usual - still got caught in a train twice going up the rocky climb - which is fairly Slippery When Wet (glam rock baby!) - when you are trying to get up that in other pace except your own in the hefty ring then it's real tough - 'specially if you have to stall - very hard to get going again without slipping out
Orla had some serious speed going up that climb on lap 3 - poor girl was being stalked by the Doris lad and myself but she held her ground and motored to the top - seriously fast!
I don't think we would have been able to get past her even if there was a gap!

Delighted I held Scrivo off until the very end - though it was as close as it could be, he hammered me on Tues night up at the IMBRC league (which is a brilliant course & race if you have never done it) so it was time for some retribution from this oul lad!

Wasn't on flying form last night but still a deadly race. made some ground up the field but was caught but the lads behind me a bit to quick for my liking.. although I did 'close the door' on one of Fergal's over taking moves...

No Results tut tut!!!! Anyway felt alot better on the bike last night than I have for a long time, still struggling on the climbs but my fitness is coming back slowly. The course was superdeadly, Nearly bulldozed over Colm and HappyDoris on the last lap in the last section as Doris had a moment I was flat chap with the head down tyring to stay with them then bang!!! Doris giggling away to himself. Had nothing in the tank for the last climb up to the finish. Still I finished 1st outa my group so happy days. Thanks to starters and shouters, legands! Cheers Daragh

I had an interesting encounter with a root at the finish line on lap 2. Sorry you missed it Shona. But Marko took full advantage, although he had a puzzled look on his face when he went past.

Good craic last night. I don’t how I did but I’m sure that will be sorted.

That taxi driver in the car park before we left called us all hardy. And he called me fat, although anyone would look fat standing next to the Culchie.

Thanks for the shouts of encouragement from the spectators and other riders; it makes a difference.

You know those nights when you feel crap, yet things go really well, we last night was not one of those. Worse race ever, nothing in the tank from the start, rear mech working loose, bashed knee, dropping chain, and riding like a gimp. I need some big mountain therapy.

Thanks to the timers, I hope those results never turn up. Shona did her best to motivate me but I was a lost cause.

Had the same as others, less traffic but laps 2 and 3 held up behind groups on the rocky climb out of section 1, enjoyed it though! Great laugh with Harri at the end, you were flying section 3 man !!

Was pedalling like an oul Granny that just escaped from a nursing home lastnite, thanks to ? who pointed out how rubbish my lines were on the techy sections!

Yeah thanks to Richard , Shona and the team for the timing and encouragement. It took me a lap to recalibrate myself for the slightly damper conditions but after that it was ok. Once Smithers passed me I tried to stay with him - could just about manage to do so on the climbs but boy is he quick when it starts going downhill. In the absense of results I'll just assume I did 2 x 12 min laps, seems reasonable (to me anyway !).

No Results tut tut!!!! Anyway felt alot better on the bike last night than I have for a long time, still struggling on the climbs but my fitness is coming back slowly. The course was superdeadly, Nearly bulldozed over Colm and HappyDoris on the last lap in the last section as Doris had a moment I was flat chap with the head down tyring to stay with them then bang!!! Doris giggling away to himself. Had nothing in the tank for the last climb up to the finish. Still I finished 1st outa my group so happy days. Thanks to starters and shouters, legands! Cheers Daragh

I had an interesting encounter with a root at the finish line on lap 2. Sorry you missed it Shona. But Marko took full advantage, although he had a puzzled look on his face when he went past.

Good craic last night. I don’t how I did but I’m sure that will be sorted.

That taxi driver in the car park before we left called us all hardy. And he called me fat, although anyone would look fat standing next to the Culchie.

You know those nights when you feel crap, yet things go really well, we last night was not one of those. Worse race ever, nothing in the tank from the start, rear mech working loose, bashed knee, dropping chain, and riding like a gimp. I need some big mountain therapy.

Thanks to the timers, I hope those results never turn up. Shona did her best to motivate me but I was a lost cause.

Had the same as others, less traffic but laps 2 and 3 held up behind groups on the rocky climb out of section 1, enjoyed it though! Great laugh with Harri at the end, you were flying section 3 man !!

Was pedalling like an oul Granny that just escaped from a nursing home lastnite, thanks to ? who pointed out how rubbish my lines were on the techy sections!

Yeah thanks to Richard , Shona and the team for the timing and encouragement. It took me a lap to recalibrate myself for the slightly damper conditions but after that it was ok. Once Smithers passed me I tried to stay with him - could just about manage to do so on the climbs but boy is he quick when it starts going downhill. In the absense of results I'll just assume I did 2 x 12 min laps, seems reasonable (to me anyway !).
