Club League 2022 Planning

Hi All,

We need people to run the league next year. The list of tasks gives an idea of the range of tasks that have to be covered so the more people that help out the easier it is to manage. If you are interested in taking on one or more of the tasks, post up below.

1. Planning (dates/rounds/format etc.) followed by application for permits / insurance: David Meredith
2. League registration, updating the rider registration file and prepping the laptop in advance of each race (maybe replacing laptop with new system): Ronan Kearney
3. Organising starters/timers (Weekly): Kieran O'Hara
4. Setting Handicaps (weekly): Ronan Kearney
5. Publish results (weekly): Ronan Kearney
6. Maintain league results (weekly): Ronan Kearney
7. Course design and maintenance (completed before the start of the league): Muiris, JonW
8. Organisation of Club Champs including course setting, starter/finisher: ???
9. Organisation of Prizes and awards: Committee
10. Buying/Ordering number plates: Committee
11. Distributing numbers in advance of the races (weekly for first two or three races): ???

I'll hand out the race numbers at the start of the league.And I'll be there for the club course clean up day,which used to be Paddy's Day in days gone past.Don't mind helping to tape up the course for the club champs either. I also want to suggest Epic charge a small fee to enter the league,even if's it's only a fiver,it might stop people from signing up and never turning up to do a race,and will also cover the cost of the plates being made or insurance or something.I feel if people pay a few quid they feel more committed to the League,might even make it easier to get timers/helpers each week. Just a thought.

HI Micky, thanks for helping out. The charge is a good idea - we had planed to do it in the 2020 season but covid got in the way (we only had 6 races that year). Cheers,

Im sure I can help out with something. Just with my work I never know if ill be on location so can't commit to anything regular. Certainly help handing out numbers or collecting from the printers etc.

HI Terry, thats been worked on at the moment. CI have a new requirement for a risk assessment that is slowing things down. There will, however, be 12 rounds. Cheers
