Okay I'm organizing a club downhill race for Sunday the 23rd of Nov. Hope to do a few over the winter but we’ll see how this goes. We'll be using the course in Cloon. This is just going to be a bit of criac and to just get some practice doing timed runs. The timings going Old school with a clock at the top and stop watch at the bottom simple but affective. We’ll try get some timing poles as well if you want to use your freelaps. This is for anyone interested in downhilling or for anyone that would love to give downhill racing a go in a chilled out way. First runs are going to start at 12.00 sharp and it must run on time to keep the timing right but ill need everyone signed up by 11.00 so I can sort out timing sheets. 2nd run start time will depend on numbers. You can practice all you want up until start time. I'll mark out any unclear parts on the day mainly in the top section. If this interests you even in the slightest get out and give it a go. See you on the hill.
good stuff, Ill show up ... Id probably have it a bit earlier so theres less people areound...
as for timing someone needs to invent a cheap timing system based on cheap disposable rfid tags, actually all the hardware is available all it needs is some software hmmmmm.
Good stuff mark. As for the time thing its just to give a chance to anyone who doesn't know the track to get some practice in before hand and and for me to sort myself out. I also know there’s going to be a few people out with sore heads that day so it will give them a bit of a chance to sober up.........Right Gav?
This is going to be starting slightly earlier now at the new time of 12.00 Sharp but you must sign up by 11.00. Practice up until about 11.30 or so but make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the start line as it will really mess things up if people miss their start times. Everyone come out and enjoy a good day of downhilling. See you there.
Just a last reminder about the club Dh race on Sunday as it says sign up by 11 and first run 12 sharp. Now don't be shy come out and give it a go, who knows I could make a complete balls of the timing and end up picking times out of a hat so you may even get fastest time of the day. See you all on Sunday. Cheers Adam.
