Max, not meaning to sound like old Bill Bailey, but if this is your first night-spin, I'd get there on time and leave with the group if you can at all -
night-spins are the business, but doing it on your own looking for the rest of the group in sh*tty weather and pitch darkness is no fun and not safe!
Coming down Lower Metro we encountered Smithers Beast of Threerock. We came round a corner and there it was, lurking in the mist and the gloom. Big staring eyes and lightning coming out of its head. Although thinking about it now it might have been just a stag.
At the end Orla challenged everyone to a race down the Dream Track. And of course, she won! Great craic, we were all buzzing at the end and even cheered on a couple of mountain runners.
that is a great loop the guys have put together. Great group out last night as well. I had to leave early due to a mechanical although i can't say i was very sorry about that. Last night was the coldest i've been on a bike in a long, long time.
