'Leisure' style spin G Ride this Weekend Sunday 5th May 10am

Hey,

I'm just posting this here before it's open to the public really.

I know some people have been mad to give Gride another bash since the Gold Rush event in March. This weekend trackandtrail.ie are running a 'leisure' style spin around the gride trails for able body bikers. This means people or reasonable fitness and can look after themselves and be self sufficient. Of course no one would be left with a mechanical in the middle of no where this isn't an xc training spin.

There will be a chance to cycle and repeat all of the sections.

There will be full use of the facilities toilets / cafe / secure parking.

The trails aren't currently open to the public so a unique chance to get to explore the trails on Glendalough Estate.

There is a €10 per person charge per person. Capable juniors are we welcome once accompanied by adult, if you have more than one Jr €15 for two.

Let me know if you are interested, I will be posting full details on the Track and Trail website and facebook later.

Hey,

I'd say it will be less if they decide to open to the public in a just show up and ride set up. I am hearing €5 per rider kind of figures but details are a bit vague and seem to change.

To me personally if it was similar to Ballyhoura where you could rock up with no booking ride the trails and use the facilities for a fiver a head I'd be happy to pay it.

Track and Trail only went about organising this one off kinda of day as there have been so many people contacting us re getting legitimate access to the trails. It is far from a money making exercise for us as anyone riding on the say would be covered by Track and trails insurance etc. Plus we still have to cover a fee to the Estate it's self.

Hope that answers your question.

I think it would be well worth a tenner once in a while for the facility though.
I heard that they have plans to open next month, with €5 entry. Hope so as that is a fine venue, the thought of it going unused would be criminal.
It is looking very likely that it will happen within the next month but this is subject to change, I really wish I could give more concrete information than that.
Secure parking and great trails well worth a5-10 euros in my book that said I'll go more often if it's a fiver :)

Can't join this weekend unfortunately Adrian,( series of invalid excuses to be omitted needless to say) enjoy it!
Not sure who is going to be running it, I happen to know that Kaz is quitting Ireland. He had a going away party up there on Saturday night
that does not surprise me in the least , he rang me last week about running a whole series of events this Summer ..he is a crazy person!
They have Gordon looking after some aspects of it Dave and as Richie says Kaz is unpredictable at times.

How and ever here is a deadly poster for the spin thing this weekend so feel free to spam your mates on the Facebook if you are at a loose end :)
