The weather is supposed to be good so I'm going exploring west wicklow mountains.
Cycling up to Wicklow Gap / Turlough Hill from Knockroe (Hollywood) and then finding my way down to Donard, probably...
I'd love company, any of the regulars on Tuesday or Sunday spins will be able for this. It's a adventure spin not a training spin.

Well just did more research and I think I need a plan B for big mountain spin for tomorrow...

This route is notoriously difficult in misty conditions without a GPS. When wet, which is to say often, the flattish region around 350 to 700m to the NE of the summit has perhaps the worst bog in Wicklow"
ok..I had a plan to do Tonlegee but without the savage walk up..I think you could get there from the forest after the Wicklow gap from Laragh or before coming from Holywood..I even did some exploring..
Theres also Mullagcleevaughn from Valleymount..its a horseshoe..
then Seehaun to Kippure...well doable, done it many times over the years..you havent done Seehaun..well worth the trip !
Or you could do my route from ROundwood to Lough Dan to the Glenmacnass to scarr then down to Lough Dan again and into Gride.
Trooperstown to the Vale of Clara..all rideable.
Derrybawn from the visitors center..go left along the Lake path follow the fireroad the way we do the miners except at the highest go left instead of right, you will come out below the shay elloit then head up Derrybawn via the shay elliot and either come back and over Mullacor and down to the miners loop.
Have you done Croaghnamoira and the funky chicken ridge?
so you could go to Laragh, do derry bawn , Mullacor, Wicklow way, Ballinafunshogue, into Glenmalure, WW, Croaghnamoira pfunkychicken ridge and then back up to shay elliot..
Glenmalure is the Emerald in the Crown of irish MTB..I'm going to retire there..
you could go up Table and down into stranahely and into the Glen and then come back up the back of Lug via Camara and down the switchbacks..
I think you need me for these spins though ! I spent 10 years in Wicklow looking for Secret Crags..I found none but I found amazing mtb trails.
Well I did the Seehaun option, climbed from Ballinascorney (some feckin climb that is!) and then cycled to another smaller hilltop but had to turn back as it was too boggy. Went down towards the Glenasmole Reservarrs but ended up in someone's farm... had to turn back again and ride across the commonage and back to the road (Allagour the map says) through some private forest. It looks like someone tried to build a DH track there but it looks ancient and hasn't been used for years I'd say. There is a lot of MX trails around there...

Would have liked to go on this spin, getting to Kippure from Seehaun is great if it's very dry or its a bit like that section from Fairy Castle to Metro..
