Wow ,what can i say . A class A-one Dragon Squadron super spin. The old weather gods was against us on our way up 3 rock..some gale and a half was blowing. But a mighty crew of us led up 3 rock by Rossco and Tim..the rest of us screaming with the lactics in the legs.
Roo wasn't singing. He had a big Chardonnay Chateau Wogga Wogga '66 head on him.
We had an uneventful, dull and boring trip around Ticknock and over to KDM where we showed Morgans Minions how to ride The Bridge.
Darragh Mortimer on his comeback trail played a stormer.
Inanyways as we quietly made our way across KDM, which is ****e when its schlompy.
Up by Toms and up the fireroad, as subdued a gang of adults as you are likely to find.
Everybody was watching each others cadences, there was a lot of half wheeling and no craic whatsover.
Then a mutiny started and I had to assert my authority quietly and calmy and off we went up the front of 3 rock and over to Fergals sattelite trail..
it was then the horror started.
Dry trails everywhere. No fun at all.
then down and around the back of the masts and some mad insane lunatic person bullied them into riding flows DH track, forgetting to mention the savage drop in to the forest.
Myself and Luke went first destroying a big rock with our carbon bikes..but BON had a crash thats likely to hold on to the title of crash of the year.
I had forgotten to mention the sharp drop and as we went over it his hands came off the bars and he went shooting offtrail and clattered several trees on his way past.
Hilarious in quiet dignified kind of way.
off we went down the rest of FLOWs DH track..it was too dry and there were were too many shouts and howls of laughter for my liking.
down aggro and back up 3 rock.
At this stage the in-charge person had broken a couple of riders and had another crying in his powergels " no more climbs ".
so off we went down MADs twisty singletrack, where at the end we were joined by MTB legend Joe " jeremiah" McCall. across Fergals rockandrolla and down aggro again ..over to the lower boneshaker were the snipers were at work taking everybody out except me and BON.
I would like to apologise for the lack of craic on this spin. I was too busy watching Tim and wondering what cadence he was in and planning on suckering people into riding a DH track on their skinny bikes..
We all learned that ROO has declared fr the other team after a pre natal class. I won't repeat his exact words because of sensitive members. But I can tell you we were lucky to get out of the car park we were laughing so much.
That was one of the best spins i've been on in a long time the group was deadly, I thought there would have been a few more , certainly some of the new lads. But don't worry, there will be plenty more.
Get out there guys, it can be a bit hard on the climbs sometimes but the craic is worth it and I can promise you all a feckin deadly spin.
