In anticipation of the Roc D'Azur I am planning a long'sh (60 km) spin from Lambs. The pace will be moderate with no stopping, hand-holding, craic etc... with plenty of places to bail out early.

I'll be along for this too but I'll be heading across home after Djouce instead of the road back to Lambs. Makes more sense doing it that way around from where I live. See you at 8am at Lambs.
Well what a day for a long spin... started off at 8 am with Byrner, Paddy, Terry, Oisin & Jack. Headed up through Ticknock past Toms and the Switchbacks. Then over the waterbars up the Wickla Way where we came across some lad and his mot. Down the Woccas where Terry ejected himself over the bars and Jack's pedal fell off. Onwards up over the Minibog and Ravens Rock and down Bag o Chips, I think that was PAddy's first time down it.... he looked a bit shook at the bottom!.... it's one of the best trails out there feic'n deadly to the max. from there over to Knockcree and up Maulin. Terry was suffering at this point but the group was working well and young Paddy was motoring (pack your bags for Rio young man). At the top of Maulin we went down the deadly rocky decsent and down to the river valley. The last bit down to the river was super dry and dusty. Jack had to stop at the bottom, had to make a phone call to Shona to explain to her how to turn on the dishwasher, jaysus. Anyway... up the steep climb from the river where my poxy crank came off, so, had to siul down to the road where Erica collected me from her Ballinastoe spin with the lezzers. Passed Jack and Terry on the road on the way home, they looked like they were havin the craic. Seen Gary & Orla on their way back from the Leadmines where they'd gone for a walk. Great spin aprt from drivetrain issues. Great group, great weather & great trails.
You forgot Doris but who cares!!
I was hanging on the back the whole way around soooo glad to see Tarmac, but I held on in, thank god it was the longest spin I've done since the roc 52k, 4 hours and about 1400m of climbing. Cheers guys and yea that paddy lad is the next Seymour for sure
well I turned back down the waterbars looking for John Doris, where he was busy whittling a pump out of a sheep, he'd just kilt, well he was trying to convince me it was a sheep, it looked more like a yorkshire terrier , anyway, i gave him a real pump and we headed back up to the junction again and up over fairy castle and down the front of fairy and metro..we got rattled to death going down the dreamtrack !! the two of us on our 45 psi in the tyres ! some craic , fair play to Terry, I thought he was broke at ticknock , delighted to hear the Specialized and Cannondale crap bikes discombobulated while my ancient ,nibbled on frankengiant is just improving as if by Black magic !!
Great spin, thought the spin was over before we got going with the pedal but popped it back on and it was grand for the rest of the spin. Great morning to be out on the bike.
Meant to thank ERICA for pulling over and sharing her bottle with me, man that was the sweetest water I've had in a long time, slightly perfumed as well, weird!!
