I'll be doing a regular Tuesday winter road spin from next week. They will be starting at a very steady pace to build a good level of base fitness. So if you're interested in starting some road training now is the time to get out - they will get harder over time! If, on the other hand, you're the type of person who has to keep belting off the front of a group and is incapable of riding at a steady pace, give these a miss, you'll hate it!!
All welcome but you will need to be self sufficient and be able to fix your own punctures - the side of a road during a dark winters evening is no place to stop a group! Decent lights, front and rear and some reflective kit would help too!
Going to try and avoid the hard-shoulder of the N11 as much as I can Oz .... I hate riding in all the **** with the traffic thundering past! But at the same time the completely unlit back roads of Wicklow wouldn't be much fun either!
Probably Foxrock - Shankill - Ballycorus - Kilternan - Enniskerry - 21 Bends - Southern Cross - Greystones - Delgany - N11 - depending on how we're doing for time at that stage I'll decide the best route back!
How miserable is that? YR reckons its still dry and hasn't rained all day! I'm going to be out but won't blame anyone who doesn't bother!
Still 50 odd weeks to the ROC!
I can't find my refelctive pantaloons, will I be ok on this yoke without them ? its going to be great training for you lads trying to keep up with it..
well , that was wet but a great loop with Richard at a civilized pace , we were chatting the whole way around , just me, Richard and Damo. Thanks Rich, a great loop..its always about the people.
