Usual route - usual rules! Strong people doing more of the work but unless you're struggling you're expected to take a turn at the front on the tougher parts!
that was a shambles..too many novices and not enough disciplinarians. Pity about tonight ,we've been going so well for so long. I started running Thursdays to allow people to get on to the Tuesday night spins. There was just too many slower riders and very few people who understand how to ride on the road in a bunch. If you had started when Richard first began these you would be up it, its not a matter of fitness its more a matter of experience. You can't just drop in and out of these and because some of us are used to riding with each other we can do it at high speed. I hope people learned valuable lessons here tonight, those of you who struggled should do my Thursdays for a few weeks before trying this one again.
A bit of a mess alright!
Everyone is welcome to come along on these spins but in future we'll just set the pace (which won't be eye watering) and if you can hang in great, if not, you just need to spend a bit more time getting used to riding at a decent pace in a group on the road! Road riding with others requires concentration and discipline otherwise people will end up getting hurt, which bloody nearly happened this evening!

Yep! Very scrappy indeed... the speed was far too slow to get a proper rotation going, I managed to stop make a phone call, stop again for a whizz, stop again to pick myself off the road and still be in the front group back at Rathmichael!! Good group formed on the way back in the N11 and we finally got it together... should have been like that the whole way around. Anyways, maybe next week.. Thanks Richard for keeping these going...
poor Ken, slowest crash ever..nd as you say we didn't get the thing going till we got to the N11 mainly because the people that were left had all been out previous weeks with the exception of Dave kelly but as he had his privat coach he was alright !
You have to appreciate the effort Richard is going to and he does a great job controlling me and Ken and Doris but that appears to be a lot easer to do than keeping everybody else up. Like both of us have said keep coming out, listen to the experienced riders and concentrate. All you need is a few goes and you'll be grand. I don't mind assisting Richard but after Christmas theres no way I will be towing anybody, fair play to Jacinta, she was motoring and Simon, that was the first time in my life I ever saw somebody break a chain on a road spin, I would have left you to walk !
Well I wouldn't have because you were doing great till then, now if it had been Dave McMahon that would have been another story, is there any member out there who gets lost more !! I couldn't believe he got lost on the bleedin road !
Ye! don't know what happened there, just stood out of the saddle to start the climb and the front wheel went from under me :-/ No serious damage done, although I'll be looking for a new pair of tights!!
