Hi All,
as requested; a Wednesday night spin to keep the Wednesday folk moving! Our president shall (hopefully) be getting a big award at this time, we shall honour him by taking to the trails!
Well that was interesting! 3rock was the wettest I'd ever seen, Oz, Erica, Shona, Ronan and I headed off for a Wednesday night special and it didn't dissapoint.
Drill Sargent Oz figured he had a group of slack-jawed privates who needed to be whipped into shape! From the get-go the pace was dialled to 10.25, hammering up the road past the Blue Light from Lambes, up to the gate and then left and the post, end of old-club course in reverse, bottom of agro, over to Tom’s. Water everywhere! But . . . so mild! I was down to a single layer very soon, going up Tom’s there was a discussion about proteins and DNA and Shona told us she fiddled with monkey brains for a laugh – and she gets paid to do this! Oz figured we were all mad and further dialled the pace up to 10.75, even the climb up Tom’s was sticky as heck! We tried to hide on Erica at the top and give her a scare, needless to say that didn’t work.
Then on to metro 2 – the fog was insane at this point, I may has well have been atop Mount Fuji at 3,500m I couldn’t even see my feet for goodness-sake! Then across to MX to bottom of 3woks and home on the road.
the place was destroyed but we had a great time!
Fair-play to everyone – Ronan was totally flying, Shona and Erica too and that new guy ‘Oz’ (apparently that’s cool speak for Oscar) is amazing – I predict great things for him, I hope he can make it out on more spins, he looks pretty skinny so I recommended a high-carb diet for the whole of Christmas! I hope he sticks to it.
THAT WAS GREAT! Thanks Harri and co.! i think i was pretty close to winning the race up past the blue light ha.Dunno about that Oz guy, he was alright but i dunno if he has any potential
Oh and eh great hiding.....on the fire road,giggling,with your lights on...benders :)
Nice one Harri... great little spin with a solid crew out, covered a fair bit of ground in a short time... Stage 5 is now ****ed and the rest of Three Rock is in a hoop too, ah well, still great to be out...
yeah had a great time last night, the fog was mental! we were either in it or looking at this snaking around the city. the boys got a scared cos of some film they watched when they were kids
the trails were slippy but not too bad, the mud was the kind you can ride through (also the kind that comes off real easily with the hose in Lambs!)
all in all a nice spin, lovely night, great gang, Oz setting the pace and Harri setting the route and Erica giggling away as always!

Yeah that was a wet & wild one. Big thanks to Harri & Oscar for joint leadership skills, great route & pace. There was a big difference in the weather from when I woke up that morning to it turning out so mild last night. Yes 3 rock was a bit of a swomp alright, thank god I had just got a new chunky front tyre on the bike, it was badly needed last night.
