Ballyhoura XC race Sun 7th

For anyone who fancies a change of scenery, and an excuse to go to Ballyhoura! There's an XC race on this Sunday, so i'm heading down for it(cos i really need the training!)
and to get the legs warmed up for the NPS in Mayo...

I was there last Friday, was bone dry for the most part and riding really well. The changes they have made in recent times are really good and the boardwalks less death like.

No rush there Graham - the event isn't on for another 90 years!

Headed to Ballyhoura this morning with Redser from WORC, got there in no time and signed up for the Elite's race

1 longer 8km lap followed by two shorter laps around 4km, single track/fireroads but also some some drop off's with tight twisty bits through loamy forrest that Team Ballyhoura had made..

Quick sign on and a well run event and well worth the drive down, great to have an excuse to get to Ballyhoura again..

Redmond finished in the top ten in Elites with myself about 2mins behind

Oh and thanks to The Conroy's for the encouragement who'd come down with young David who won the Under 16's and Brendan who got 2nd in U10

Ha and no! Well was a good event and I was a just over a minute behind Jon Hynes, but reckon I will stick with S3 for now
