On January 16th I'll be starting my weekly road training spins.
They will all start from either Lamb Doyles or similar Southside location around 9am.
They will be going every week until the first NPS in April.
The first 3-4 will be easy, 60-70km mosty on flat or rolling terrain. From then on I'm going to ramp them up and the final spins in late March and early April will be 140-160km long.
All will have a coffee stop half way and no one will be left behind.
A few rules though:
1. No rear mudguard = no spin. Its not to keep your but dry but to stop the spray for the riders behind you
2. Everyone does their turn on the front, unless you 'hit the wall' then we will tow you home
3. Have 2 spare rubes and other essential tools / spares.
4. Have enough food or money for food and drink to get you through 3-4h or cycling (5-6h later on in the year)
I'm posting this early so that you can get organized. These will be spins for those planning on racing the XC NPS and need to get the hours on the bike.
Graham, I'm posting this here so that more people see it, you can move it to the road section later!
Reminder that this starts next Saturday. Meeting place and time TBC, I'll keep an eye on the rain radar and try to pick a dry spell. Leaving between 8:30 and 10:00 roughly.
The first spin will be easy, endurance pace, flat route (as much as possible), 3h riding time approximately.
Don't forget about mud guards, some cash, spare tubes (2 would be ideal) and wrap up especially feet and hands, it's to be a cold week.
