Sunday 8th May extra long xc spin

Hello,

Maybe a bit early but I know some of you are training for a marathon race. I rode this loop about 2 year ago and wouldn't mind trying it again. Total of 85 km of which 65 of road and the rest on road. Leaving enniskerry at 9.00 towards the Wicklow way, djouce boardwalks, Ballinastoe, roundwood, laragh, glendalough via the Wicklow way towards glenmalure, shay Elliot of road climb to Clara Valle and back to laragh via troopers town Mtn. Back over the road to enniskerry. Good few hours in the saddle so come prepared with food and water energy gels etc. steady pace with a few stops. Possibility to fill your bottle or buy a bar in laragh.
You need a xc bike for this spin.

Looks like it will be warm tomorrow. Sunscreen might be a good idea since we be in the saddle for a while. Terry come as far as Laragh and see how you feel. We will stop there for a refuel.

See you all in the morning.
Class spin lads. I felt the pace a bit until i got to the boardwalks, and then i settled in a little. Huge group out. Glad i bailed at laragh as was 60k for me, so that was plenty. Robert was shelled, so i towed him most of the way, until i challenged two roadies to a race, as i was pissed off towing them along too. and had a great dice with them until i got back to car. Cheers guys, dave we waited for u leaving laragh but no sign. Did u get lost AGAIN?

Great spin even if I did manage to ride past 15 lads screaming at me (It'll tell you where my mind was at that stage!). Terry - I bumped into an old friend an we chatted for a few minutes (thanks for waiting). When I got to Roundwood I ran into Terry, Andy and Gary K. Did a spin back with them (back of the Vartery Res and then XC to the Sugarloaf and a bit of a magical mystery tour off-road most of the way back to Enniskerry. Really glad I had the suncream on - Thanks for organising the spin Rudolf. A few personal records for me today - 88Km, 2700 Kcals, 2,000 meters of climbing = very happy!
