It has always been the intention of the club to get everyone together for a monthly social spin however in the busy summer season this didn't go to plan but from next month it will be back and we hope to continue forever. I'm going to select the dates in advance to ensure everyone knows about them and we can get a great turnout and so this doesn't get over looked.
I have had a look at the cx dates and I have selected dates to avoid most cx races in the greater Dublin area i.e Fixx and our own race.
October -Sunday 9th - Chris - The last blast - Ballinastoe
November - Sunday 6th - Trooperstown Woods @9.30 Steveo aka Mr. Enduro.
December -Sunday 4th - Max Power - Lead Mines
December -Monday 26th - The Turkey Burner- Anyone??
I will take the lead for October spin and hope to be on all but it would be great if we could mix things up and someone takes that following months please as it keep things fresh. Just remember it has to be suitable terrain and distance for and all about the craic there is plenty of other spins for training. Oh and coffee and cake afterwards is great too.
Change of plan for Sundays social spin as I'm sure you may be a wear that Don O Conor is organising a memorial spin for Richie _ The last blast In Ballinastoe on Sunday so we will hook up with and support this of course
As there is 300+ people saying they will attend I guess parking will be tight so maybe we will meet somewhere close by and roll down. I ll post details tomorrow.
In the mean time drop a lapsed member a text or pick up the phone and encourage them to come along. Be great to get a massive turn out.
Social Spin - Sunday 6th Oct - Ballinastoe The Last Blast 10am.
Hi All
As I'm sure you are know by now there is a memorial spin for Richie on Sunday so this will be our social spin this month. This will be more of a social spin for the whole mountain biking community rather than just the club.
The plan is to meet at the coach house in Roundwood @ 9:30 get registered and donate then time depending may do a little loop before heading to the top of the woods for The Last Blast. The crowd will be massive and it will be a great event one not to be missed.
