C u there guys, i hope it’s really cold as I have to wear my old 661 fullface now as the fox proframe I ordered is wrong size so have to send it bak : ( , it will be sweat city , but cannot wait to see everyone & hit the trails !!!! I’ve been doing little jumps over little bumps on my commute the past few weeks so really need to get bak up the hills yay!
wow - well that was monumental - lots of mental. Terry was in mind to give us all a good taste of reality with a massive spin, where there would be 262% more climbing than going down (only he can magic up a spin with that percentage) the climbs were just sensational (the only thing harder was trying to pretend I wasn't banjaxed when I got home)
what a glorious spin!!! super enjoyed it, some of us were meek shadows of ourselves by the end.

I just had 1 x 11 xt (32 - 11 X 46) installed by the friendly experts at Expert Cycles - the guys installed the lot and set it up for cheaper than some places you can get the stuff online (so - what you waiting for?)
it was a big change from 2 x 10 to 1 x 11 - Colm Pattison said I'd lose a kg (Terry's spin made sure I lots that off my arse today!) any way internet says about 200g - I call BS -Colm is right - my bike has never been so light. I really loved the new feel and I was climbing like a goat (okay - a goat with 3 legs) I didn't run out of gears - with the 32 upfront it was perfect - really weirdly I used to love spinning in a 1:1 ratio on the old bike- that's 36:36 (see 1:1) so I spent a bit of time in the 32:32 combo and it felt easier ??? A trick of the brain? less weight? so I dropped a few sprockets.
really loving this set-up and today was a big day to test it out! picked up a few little scratches - each one sorer that a cut arm! (you know - new gear and all that)
so there you have it - a convert. amazing . . . and Xt is great - I've been running a mix of XT and SLX for years - this is the whole XT M8000 and it's the business - truly is!

Really enjoyed that spin today & such nice pancakes with rashers & maple syrup in hazel house ( my first time having that combination). Great chats & bants all way around & so nice to really catch up wit the 5 of us who went to hazel house. We did lots of climbing today but there was also lots of fun downhill too to test my nerves after my tooth crash. I struggled in the fullface as it was so hot & sweaty but after the first or second downhill bit I was pleased my confidence started to grow a bit more. Great day thanks all & Terry excellent route !
