Skills Session Saturday 9:30 Belmont Demesne

Going to spend 1,5-2h messing around the Belmont trails and the pump track.
Mostly working on dynamic movement elements such as bunny hop, pumping rollers and berms, some doubles etc.

It's not a spin as such and I don't want to compete with Terry's spin in Djouce but I'll be doing this anyway so treat this as an open invite, if you feel like it.
It's an advanced skills session, good lid, knee pads and flat pedals essential (ride SPDs if you have to but don't count on major gains!)

Car park is €3, well worth it though. Expect it to be very busy there hence an early start, coffee / cake afterwards in Arthurs Barn.

Sounds good, I've wanted to do something like this for along time!

Deadly little session!
The big tabletop was class.
And I'm terrible at pump track :D

One thing I forgot to mention is a bike set up, for bunny hops and jumping so everything that involves compressing your suspension a correct rebound setting can do wonders (and of course correct pressure, sag etc). Feel free to drop me msg if you need help with that.

Short clip from the gopro later

Big thanks to Max for the training today. I'm going to try and work towards learning how to bunny hop over time. Feel alot more comfortable jumping after that session, will do a day in the gap over Xmas to put the new skills to practice. Almost got the full way round the pump track a couple of times, maybe next time!

Cheers for that Max. Very informative. I definitely came away with a new skill to practice. The technique you showed us to bunny hop and manual was great. I was halfway there but now feels alot easier.
Great craic on the tabletop, I wouldnt session stuff much so was nice to hit a good jump over and over.
These little skill sessions are really good.
Be great to see more people at the next one as is worth it.
Great morning in Belmont for back-to-basics with bunny-hops, jumps, and the pump track.
Watching youtube videos is no substitute for someone who can point out exactly what you're not doing right - and there is plenty of that for me. Thanks a mil Max for your patience and advice. Now I need to find a quiet spot for some mid week bunny-hop practice, and maybe a new year's visit to GAP.
I hadn't been on a bike in Belmont since that fffreezing cold K-Cap race - it now had a red loop with natural trails and a bit of mud, and a hard surface blue loop with berms and table-top. Pump track was way more challenging than I expected. Great to see so many kids out on it.
Got coffee and a loaf of bread for lunch in Bak'd afterwards.
Thanks Max for running this - and to all for a fun morning on the bike. Great to be outside Dublin too - just about.
