Thanks everyone.
We decided to change the climb up for once so we headed up the usual coillte climb, as we neared the top we cut right into one of the river beds which brings you up to the walking trail on the tilbradden side of fairy castle.
From there we slogged to the top over all the water breakers and I really regretted my route choice. Thankfully we didn’t do much climbing from then on, it was mostly down from the top of fairy castle to the black, down the black, then onto pinball where Al had a fall and while he was down a wasp decided to sting his face. Then onto pinball and dickies where Mal realised two of his spokes were gone so we decided the spin was cursed and we’d better go home.

It was an enjoyable spin up until the wasp sting on the side of my temple which had me in a lot of pain for hours. Had died down by 1am so have been grand since then.
Yeah it was a cursed spin. Hopefully it wasn't me that cursed it. Maybe I should stay away if these things keep happening.
