Unfortunatly it's the feckin car's fault, i have to change the water pump and would you belive it no one has one in stock, well pisssed off, so no spin or Glory today or tomorrow for that matter.
Great spin, after we got warmed up, the rain was coming at us sideways. Great to see a big team of xc in training guys out, for the intermezzos it was Myself, Alan Carolan & new guy Hughie Geagherty.
This new kid used to do enduro with Smithers - so he's got the same shape in the bike - & like Darragh he's some kind of powerhouse, managing to snap his chain when we finally got up to the aerils & started riding some trails, it was funny his light died at this exact moment too. This kid is as strong as an OX! & was first up every climb! Massive potential! And a really sound lad too!
Three Rock is wrecked - we were cycling throught a river in the forest - weird - but fun. Came back down the DH track over to Lambes - really quickly; buzzing! Then met with the Fast-Lads! Lukes back wheel resembles a wonky chinese hat - all over the shop!
Before we started (& the fast lads were gone 10 minutes), the bar man from Lambes came out & said - can you tell you friends to move their cars I have a load of Impreza's coming in & I need 20 spaces? - i explained that they were gone, only 3 of us left & no cars in the area that he wanted cleared. I was looking at him & thinking- oh yeah, I'll just catch them now. . . he had no concept of the fact that the fast folk were GONE & not catchable. . . ? I think he needs to go on a spin!
Yeh, Hughie is a good lad, he has been talking to me for a while now about getting out, what a night he picked!!! He rang me yesturday and I just happened to ask him about his gear and he said he had everything and I asked what he had and he mention tracksuit bottoms, Well I tell you after last weeks Jeans episode I told him to get his arse down to me and I lent him a bit of gear. Could you imagine if tracksuits had have been on a spin the universe would have imploded!!!
