Howdy Benders,
Meself, Murphy and Killian are going for a relaxed spin in the morning. 9:30 at Lambs Doyles, all mountain bikes, grand tour of Tree Rock.
Pace will be relaxed on the climbs but uber mental on the downey bits.
Anyone is welcome as long as they are members and fulfil all the normal requirements, no vegetarians, stone masons etc.
It has been said to me by some of the clubs senior people that while we have lots of want to be savages who are getting fitter, the old level of technical skill are not where they should be. These types of spins are without doubt the best way of getting better on the bike. You wonât be creased by the time you get to the tops of the hills, so you can put all your focus into the going fast down the other side. These kind of spins where the reason we started doing what we do, and they are what made the deadly bike riders in the club deadly, its all well and good trying to be an XC savage, but if you havenât learned how to be a good technical rider first you are never going to get the best out of your efforts.
Was on one of these two weeks ago, had some of the best bike riders in the country, just pissing about Tree Rock, one of the best days biking I have had in years, and you get help but learn stuff and get better.
Sean
