Tuesday 11th Training Spin 6.30 Lambe Doyles
That was wet!!! I was soaked to the skin when I got home lashed rain from Palmers, Really enjoyed that spin tonight started off slow and sped up as I went, the craic down bag of chips and Byrner Taking a wrong turn on the green mile what a laugh. Great to see RL out again on a spin its been a while. Great bunch again Cheers Richie!
well if were wet...id hate to see Jack and Richie!!! id say their gonna get a room at the hostal in Knockree!!!
Jeysus .... I'd forgotten how hard those spins can be! Decided to cycle from home and was soaked to the skin after 5 minutes ...... finally dried out and warmed up ...... then I got soaked again going back home over the Leadmines! Over 40kms ..... on a bloody Tuesday!
hey..that was a great spin..i wasn't going to go that hard without the Sooper troopers..but Chris had turned up for the first time in ages and he only has one speed..
so off we went till I realised I was all alone at the top of Ticknock Car park..so I eased off and away we went..there was me, Jacksie,Chris ,Ronan,Smithers,adamski,Brendan,Damien..Snakey Lynch had slithered off early !!
So on we went and some stranger had latched on to the gang...who was giving it socks behind us..
We took it handy across the waterbars and then I spotted Snakey Lynch and took off after her..
After we caught up with the old bitch we went along together, Jacksie had suffered a mechanical and Adamski waited to help him..
The dark stranger introduced himself as Joe Jackmans friend Jules..we had a good laugh about the perils of being sent on a Tuesday savage spin and nobody knowing who you are..!!

Anyway up the minibog of death and over to Ravens Rock where we hung out and watched Brendan stumble through the heather like a crazy man..then we watched Snakey Lynch sliding down the trail to Ravens Rock
some craic then down to Bag of Chips were I burped the front Piranha and it resealed as if by magic !!
After the end of Bag of chips we went down the dream mile..
all the old biddys went home and Jack was the only eejit to follow me down Knockree..
I love that descent..
But I should have warned Jacksie that there were a couple of fierce climbs out of that particular hell !!
But we battled on Bravely and only really got caught in the torrential rain at the Scalp..
we were fairly motoring by then..
but by jaysus..i got some soaking heading down Glenamuck Road..
great bunch out though..

The green mile is a great end to that spin. I had a bit of a mega bonk just at palmers on the road back. It's taken the contents of the fridge to sort me out.
Turned up to Lamb Doyles bang on 6.30pm,after bad traffic across the city,only to find everyone had left.So got my bike together and set off on my own at 6.38pm.Caught Jack and Adam with the mechicanical on the Wocca's,but they sent me on,then caught a lad on the desent to the road,sorry dont know his name,but he had a cut arm from a fall,but was ok.Then Jack and Adam caught us,so we cycled on.Jack was flying up to the Bog of Death,Adam and I fell back a bit and peddled on.Caught the rest of the group just before Bag of Chips.All stayed together till the end of the Green Mile.Which was my 1st time down it and its great.Then Richie and Jack went off on an extended spin,and the rest of us weak riders headed down the road into Enniskerry.Coming up the hill out of Enniskerry,another lad I dont know his name,but was on a Giant Anthem,went to the front and sped up the pace,so I jumped onto his back wheel.So its the 2 of us out in front,and I took the front arond the Ski Slope place to lead out for a while,got to Palmers and I was on my own,so I pushed on thru Stepaside on my own in the pouring rain.Turning at Lambs Cross I caught the lad with the cut arm,he didnt do the extra Green Mile bit,but at least the cut arm didnt hold him back,and passed him,as all I wanted was to get to the car and get dry.Took me 2hrs 5 mins to do tonights spin.Rest of the lads got in about 5 mins behind me.Enjoyed the spin,but annoyed at myself for doing well on tonights spin,but only getting a crappy 17th in Sundays race.Pity the form wasnt better on Sunday and rubbish tonight!!See you all on Thurs for the club race. Made it back anyway. Tried to kill meself on the down hill, before the small gate the back of Fairy Castle. The front wheel slid into one of those fookn ruts. Left a good bit of me left arm in the gravel, but continued on. Took the usual "short" route. Turned left at the top of the rocks at curtelstown over to the rock outcrop, down through the heather, the rocky bit and that rooty track through the forest and on down to enniskerry and home the road. And then the rain came....I'll have to start hiding the injuries from the wife, she wasn't impressed with this one.
