Savage Spin Tuesday 14th September 7.00 Djouce

This will be the Tuesday loop for September..
Djouce at 7.00
XTC
Benchcut
SOBC
Across the River
Powerscourt
Maulin via Crone
Down the Switchbacks
Up Ride Rock
River Valley
Disco Stu
Gran Canaria

This is a sub 2 hour spin.

The reason we are doing the same spin on a Tuesday for a Month is that people who want to up their game by riding with the Clubs best riders is that they can start and know where we are going.
Everybody who can go on these should be an experienced well equipped rider.
I would expect to see riders like Harri and RichardL lead particular groups within the spin.
lights are now essential.

We will be taking it as handy as we can for October , November and December with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity during the week.

But remember what we consider handy is well above normal.

Richie
well that was spectacularly cool....
I went at 5.30 from Djouce and rode across to Ballinastoe via the grim death bog..
then rode the Blast course and back on the road..
then me, Skip, Alfie, Brendan, Chris,DaveM, Ronad and Doris hit LSD, XTC,Benchcut,Son of Bench Cut, across the river and up Maulin via Crone..the Hard ******* way !!
Down the deadly track..
Up ride rock..Lights on
Down to the river Valley up the other side
Down the Best descent and on to Disco Stu..
wooooo.....Shclompy big time
Then off down GC and back to the cars !
Cold enough and wet..my fingers just came back to normal

Now..
Reality check..
if you are a serious rider, then these are the spins you should be on.
They are not flat out but they are severely technical and physically hard.
They are not training spins, they are just done at our comfort level.
But if you don't do them and when the real training begins in January, you can't expect us to wait while you catch up.
So think hard about what you want..a lot of the clubs masters will be moving up to Elite, that means theres an opportunity for some of you to make a big step towards winning masters.
These are by far the most enjoyable spins you can do, fast , hard and fun.
Richie
Jesus that was a spin. Trying my best to keep up with that crew.....Thanks for hanging around lads. The climbs were hard, but the decents make up for the pain, there are all great. I was expecting some of the non savage members, when I saw who was there I knew I was in for a hard night, but if I wasn't trying to keep up I wouldn't have pushed so hard, haven't dug that deep of a tuesday in a long time. sorry if i held ye up...
great spin last night people, love that route it has it all super tough climbing but after every climb you are rewarded with a deadly descent what else would you be doing on a miserable tuesday night only buzzing off your head in djouce!
Cheers lads , that was a great spin last night, I can't believe John Doris did laps of that climb in a race before !! no wonder he is so savage !

Ronan, this is the time to jump on these spins, i've tried to make it easier by moving it to 7.00, which suits me at them moment because I get a spin in earlier.
Believe me, we start building up our base fitness for next season right now. You will get up to cruising speed very quickly. You just have to stick at it and be prepared for the non stop style.

Savage Spin

Deadly Spin...thats climb has a real kick to it but feels good when you get to the top...
Great to be back in the schloomp for a change...still grinning...
Is there any wannabe savages interested in joining me next week on this spin next week to work at getting closer to the fast lads?
I hope to make it out next week if I can get lights sorted.
Do you have the route on GPS?, so us slower wannabe savages dont hold up the rest of ye? I cant imagine it is too pleasant on a rainy cold evening hanging about for people.
yeah I do..i'll post it up on my Garmin later..I was hoping a certain person would take on the wannabe savages ..don't sweat it, there will be a tailgunner next week..
Next week I will take the wannabe savages and Alfie will take the Savages..but just this once so you know where you are going !!
