Tues night spin

Sorry for the late notice but Ballinastoe at 7.30 for a night time rip up daffyds trail and back down the blast.

you won't get down the Blast ,Al, its in a seriously bad condition...some of its nearly unwalkable

Skippys patio, its completely destroyed and the bit just after the jump you built on heavens gate...and you won't even believe what Alans singletrack is like..and that was saturday before the monsoon that came down Saturday evening...top bits ok, Roos Gully is fine and so is the end stretch..
what we did yesterday was cool..up Ballinagoober..after the long boardwalk..turn right on to the Wicklow way.up the boardwalks to eventually you get to a style ..turn right just up the hill then follow the track past the entrance to the Blast..down the savage rocky descent and then left across the heathery rocky track to where the pog used to come out..then go left back to the last stretch of daffyd single track..we went across the river on the left to old Ballinastoe but that might break you if its wetter than Sunday was..its gone a bit Pete Tong as the young people say !!but you get the picture

that was a cool spin. Glad i went out, was driving down hoping no one would show up so i could go home and sort my knitting paterns into alpabethical order. Gav, Keith and Skippy showed up. With Skippy setting the pace on his skinny bike and the rest of us draggin our freeride asses around the place. We went for a lap of ballinadafyd which was cool to be back riding it at night. The top sections always put a smile on your face, Don you need to get lights and try it at night its even more like a video game. Then on back up to the top and across to the mattock express and down heavens gate and onto railblazer. The mud and puddles of death made for entertainment. Down the gully and onto the the finish of the blast course.

Night riding is deadly

Sounds good, I will try night riding in my next life, can Skippy ride his bike again? He looked like a drunken sailer on Sunday.

Haha drunken sailer was right...But no Don it seems i cant. After i left the lads lastnite i went for another lap and creamed myself big style.. think iv broken two fingers and split knee for my efforts. Iv learned when you fall off on daffys at speed it hurts as the trails are like tarmac after all the rain.

for feck sake skip you went back up after those deer didn't you??? I thought I heard your crazy stag impression :)

Fair play to you last night. I really pushed myself trying to keep up with your handy pace. It was tough but brilliant fun.

Where else would you bust two fingers, rip your knee open and get no sympathy whatsoever, shame on you lads, wouldn't happen in MAD you know. Skippy, hope you are on the mend, I have no doubt that Richie is arranging flowers and chocolates as we speak.
