Snow boarding Any one ?

Has anyone got out snow boarding this week ? Where is good, close to Dublin as don't think getting down to wicklow is a runner at the moment.

if I only had something to attach to my feet I would be out..

I was thinking that with a decent car it should be possible to get to the sugarloaf carpark. That long wide walkers trail from near the top could be very nice. It's pretty much grass the whole way so nothing to gouge the boards.

Last year someone on here was talking about a small hill just outside the m50 near the sandyford exit. Supposedly it's at the back of a housing estate and is lit by the m50 lights so it's good for the evening. Unfortunately I seem to have lost the pm with the details of where exactly the place is :/

Last year people where snow boarding from the top of the arials in 3rock down the long road back to the ticknock carpark....

Down Kilmasoghue would also be good...

Thats Kingston Hill I think Andy, Just off the Grange road before it crosses the M50..

One of Llandai's golf courses would be ideal!:)

Ye sounds good and we can do shuttle in a golf buggy...

Up 3 rock last night, a foot and a half of snow , the tarmac road leading from car park to masts had around 5 inches of powder on top of a nice compacted base. More than deep enough to carve without scuffing the board. Judging by the amount hat has been dumping down so far today it should be even better tonight. No lights even required up there, everything is very bright with all the snow cover. I also hear reports of somebody in a jeep with chains doing uplifts yesterday afternoon/evening...

Back on track... 3 rock sounds good...

I live just below the Hell fire Club and there is a good foot and a half of snow here so I reckon on about two foot further up. If anyone can get a good 4x4 to bring people and skis/boards up it would be perfect.
A few lads I know went up and skiied Sally Gap in the snow in January and had a great time.
As for that hill at Kingston estate just off Grange road, its not really long enough.
I would be well up for this if anyone is going up.

Today is the first time i have ever been envious of ******s in their 4x4 jeeps.

What are the roads like up to lambs you could hike up boneshaker with board/ski's... Or We could cycle up with boards on back packs should make it up to tignock carpark , then hike up 3 rock..though cycling in snowboard boots will be interesting . A 4 wheel drive and chains is what we need.... Any one !

I was in total fitness in sandyford earlier in a friends pick up and the roads were poxy, if you have two wheel drive forget it. You would need someone to drive up to even the small carpark.
