I just drove back from Greystones via Kilmac, there was a cyclist going along GOD on N11 and even with all the lights he was barely visible, I'll be glad to skip that dark road of death.
that was gnarly..avoiding the Glen of the dark hole full of cars was better but you need better lights !!
Damo punctured his toobular..we all got a bit spread out..I got a puncture halfway down the hill from Kilruddery..stopped at Dell to fix it !! my spare tube was a Schrader !!! which serves me right for not checking what tubes I have , so rimmed it home..caught sight of a bunch in Shankill but couldn't pedal/crunch fast enough to catch up !!
Fookin hell this road training is mental..dangerous, dirty but better than the Turbo..that massive roadkill on the N11 was good..was it a freaking bear or what Thanks Skippy and fair play to the girls !!
Good spin but man it was getting cold near the end, I had sealskinz and overshoes and my toes were still frozen after 3h of cycling. I pumped my tires really hard before I left to make sure I didn't puncture, seems to be the only way.
It was freezing going out but not coming back..it wasn't actually that cold either coming across from LMR either !!
I only have the old shimano shoes, socks and overshoes and my feet are always toasty...
Tip of the day..those Canterbury thermals are easily 100% the best base layers ever created..
and the Altura Night vision Gloves fantastic..
All I had on top was a Canterbury Base layer and my Aldi Winter jersey !!
Great to be back out with the lads and lassies again, no fun riding on your own and you dont push yourself as hard.
Jeasus Skip what the hell..... you nearly killed myself,Terry and Alfie coming into shankill, we were flaking along and you just decided to sit up, I just missed you,terry ran up and along my back wheel nearly taking us both out and Alfie had a heart attack at the back still I laughed it off anyway yeh mad yoke!!!
The climb from greystones was a defo heart rate increaser, Tried to stay with Rusty and Max but didnt, Rusty you savage!!!

Great spin - over 61kms for me in total! Stew kept me company on a lap of Killiney and then set off to cycle home to Laragh.......well hard!
Maybe I'm being a bit oversensitive but I think we should pay a little bit more attention to the traffic lights on the N11 - 15 people just sailing through one red light after another is just going to piss people off? If the guy in front has to accelerate to get through an orange light the guys at the back have no chance!
