Just to make things a bit more confusing..

Those ones are something to think about as well, other then the Hope ones. You can build a versatile light set with then for about the same cost as the Hope.

Darragh - I've the R4 Epic version on order from Alfie (that's the one with the longer battery life) at a very competitive price! The new one is a lot smaller and brighter than the old one (50% more quoted lumens!). The old version can be had cheaper than CRC from Bikescene.co.uk!

how long is longer battery life?

Buy an EXPOSURE Toro - 960 lumens, self contained battery. 3 hrs batter life. Some job. Try Shinybikes in the UK as they will deliver for free to Ireland. I got mine there 2 weeks ago. Great service and a fantastic product with no cables or batteries to worry about.

I have an Exposure and while it's a great light you can't mount one on your helmet (except the Joystick) and for offroad riding a bar mounted light is far from ideal! Good on the road though! Also I've had ongoing reliability issues with mine - its been back to the UK 3 times!

thanks for the ideas lads heard a few bad stories about the exposure jobies think i will save up for the new hope r4 expensive but reliable

I think you'll get away with the two led jobs..the 4 is only for people like me and Richard who are decrepit !! or kellyer who has size/led issues.

i know but i want it for some night time dh aswell so need the high lumens
