rounded resevoir bolt

i rounded the bolt on the resevoir of my brakes over in les gets so can't get the top cap off to bleed them, is there any way of getting it off? ive tried using a pliers and cutting it but it doesn't work. there the old xts. i bled the other brake when i came home and there was no oil left in it so id imagine this is running on air by now. it kind of half worked up till now but now it just doesn't do anything. any suggestions? if worst comes to worst i'll just cut the hose and put a new lever on, i have a new one lying around anyway.

Do the bolts stick out from the surface around them? if so, then a good hack saw and a flat head screw drive should work, I've used this method for getting off bolts on brake discs (takes bloody ages btw)

they don't really stick out much, think i'll just try cut the cap off and then i should be able to grip the bolt enough with a pliars to get it off.

you can file the edges of the head on opposite sides , then use a spaner to unscrew

i supose it wouldnt work if its not stickin out though

drill the head off the screw once you lift off the reservoir cap off whats left of the screws will usually come out handy enough with the help of a pliers. Bleed brake and fit cap with new screws. I have some proper shimano screws in the shop if you want them.

if the last post doesnt work...drill a 2.5-3mm drill bit through the centre of the resevoir cap and with the hole that has been drilled, put a small flat head screw driver into the hole and pry off the cap..(it's only plastic) and basically pull it off...(this wont do any damage to the lever at all)

when you have pulled the cap off the only thing left will be the two screws...use a small vice grips to then unscrew them...i've done this a couple of times before and worked perfectly...
